How often do you replenish your make up?

I was reading an article that says you should throw out all your make up after six months and then buy all new stuff. Does anyone do this? When I was single and didn't have any babies, I worked outside the home and went out alot. Most of my make up didn't make it six months, it was gone way before that. Now, I hardly ever wear it. I am mostly home with the kids and if I do go out, with two little ones and myself to get ready, I don't have time for the full make up regimen I used to do. Now, I slap on some foundation and throw on some lipstick and head out the door. What about you all, do you just use your make up til it's gone no matter how long it takes or do you live by the six month rule?
