is cucumber a fruit, or a vegetable

hi friends, i got confused when my son asked me this question. Is cucumber a fruit, or is it a vegetable or does it belong to anyother group..... Any inputs.....

I think cucumbers are fruits like tomatoes. Their seeds are within the flesh. Vegetables generally are leafy things. Cabbage is a vegetable, so is lettuce. Broccoli is a flower. Carrots are roots, like potatoes.

from what I have learned , though I could be completely wrong on this . It is a veggie . I am not sure . I got to thinking about it for a second , and I know tomatoes are considered a fruit , and the logic behind that still kind of boggles my mind . I am pretty sure though cucumbers are considered a veggie. I will come back later to see if I am right . Happy mylotting

Hi, I'm sure cucumber is a vegetable.It is not a fruit.Somebody make cucumber dal fry.you may find out in recipes site.
