Hollywood vs __________ ?

We all know that hollywood movies are the best compared to other country's movies. But still, fill the above blank with any country's name whose movies can compete with hollywood. In my view french movies can be a better competetion for hollywood. Many french movies are better than any other hollywood movies. I can also see a place for chinese movies.

Sorry, we don't all know that Hollywood is the best. I watch independent films and films from countries all over the world. Some of them are much better than the usual Hollywood stuff. Maybe most people prefer the big Hollywood blockbusters, but that doesn't mean they're the best, just the ones that appeal to the most people.

i don't think hollwood films re the best..it's either our an american, pretending to be an american, wanting to be an american, or your were just brainwashed by the things you read, heard and watch, or most probably, you never had the cahnce to watch movies from different countries..
there is a lot of GREAT movies all over the world not just from hollywood, besides if there is no criteria, how can people judge w/c film is better..
