Do you watch sports live in a stadium? If so, do you prefer stadiums or on TV?

I've only been to 3 football matches on the stadium. All of them were international matches, because the moronic ape-like behavior of the so-called fanatic club supporters keeps me at home for club matches.
Unfortunately, all 3 matches ended up bad for my national team, Romania: 1-1 against Slovenia in the 2002 World Cup qualifying play-off (that left us as home, because Slovenia won on their home field) in a rainy autumn day, 0-1 against Norway on a muddy pitch on another rainy day, and 2-5 against Denmark on a sandy pitch...
I decided I better watch games at home, where I won't catch a cold from the rain and see the team I support loose...
I'm thinking of going to see the national rugby team in the future, I think this sport deserves more attention in my country.

Hmm... the results and the weather seem to have dampened your spirit for the game :) For me whenever I turned up for the cricket matches for my country, the country has gone on to win and I also had the honor of watching two of our greatest players Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar reach the 10,000 run milestone in One Day and Test Matches respectively.
Cheers!

for the instance of soccer and basketball those are more physically
competitive and with bigger scenes, live enthusiasm to feel, watching it
in stadium would be undoubtfully the better chioce.
i'd just watched beijing olympic games basketball final which is as you known
usa vs spain,wonderous game.
cricket is not so popular in my country, and soccer even turns out a big shame
in my country.

I have tried once to watch sports live in a stadium or arena. Yet I still prefer to watch sports on tv. I like it that way to see the characters or the players well. I mean, I don't really like to be in a noisy crowd. I just prefer to stay home and enjoy the sports I'm watching.

Actually crowd shouting is what I enjoy about being in stadiums. The whole thing becomes much more than just the game that is going on. In India people come to stadiums with drums and dance all through the match and then it is whole lot more fun than watching it on TV alone at home.
Cheers!

I actually prefer to watch them at home as I feel we could be more relaxed and have fun and at the same time enjoy watching them with our family members.Once I did go to the stadium with my dad and bro ut then I felt I did not have much fun at the same time the weather eas really bad it was really very hot so one could imagine how we would feel.

Once I went to watch a cricket match in kolkata that was between australia and India but man believe if you are there to really watch the match, Its not the place you would be going !! You cannot really make out what is happening and you need to see the big screen placed inside the stadium to know whats happening !! But going to stadium has got its own advantages !! when you go with your friends you can make a lot of noice and you can dance !! You really love it !! And those mexican waves and standing ovations are awesome !! And when you see your favorite player from near, there wont be any limits to your excitement !! If you are lucky you can get an autorgaph too :) !! I have got a autographs of few Indian players and really loved it :)
