Treadmill test

Almost two weeks ago, I had to undergo a treadmill test to determine if my heart could take the stress of major surgery. I have since gone through with the surgery so it goes without saying I passed the treadmill test. However, the experience lingers and I can't quite get over the fact that I made it even when I felt like collapsing as the test was ongoing. I think it was sheer will that got me going until I achieved about 90% of my heart rate. The medical staff who monitored the entire test was actually encouraging me to go for 100% but I was close to passing out so I had it terminated. it looks like a very harmless test where a patient is made to use the treadmill to see if his cardiovascular system can take such extreme stress. Each stage is for a total of 3 minutes. The speed increases and the incline rises after each stage. They put a pretty picture of a garden so it appears like you're just taking a walk. The whole time, you've got the blood pressure contraption attached to your arm and the wires for an ECG test on your ribs and chest. It's very controlled and that really contributes to the degree of difficulty. In all, I guess it's okay that I learned I could pass the test but I really don't relish another go at it soon.

I'm pretty sure the test took the most out of you.Man that is so tiring.Did they prepare you for the test, like, did they told you to exercise for a week,be on a diet or undergo fasting?stuffs like that.or did you just woke up in the mornig,do the regular things that you do,then was scheduled for the test? Was it an endurance test?what is the main objective of doing such tests?
