What do you think about copper IUD's?

I am very nervous about getting a copper IUD. I have read that in the past people have develped infections which werent known about and caused them to be sterile when they were ready to have children. I have two children and don't want anymore right now but I know that I do want more in 5 years or so. I have a lot of trouble with hormonal changes so taking the pill was never a good thing made me way to moody. I take Zoloft for depression. I have heard that implanon the plastic IUD works well but it does have small doses of hormones which I don't want. Just the thought of copper being put in my body sounds scary as well as the complications that could arise. What do you suggest? Do you have an IUD and have you ever had a problem with it?
