well, i am a full-finger typist and i found that using all your fingers to type really helps increasing your typing speed and accuracy. it's good to be 'fair' to all your fingers by assigning duties for them fairly, not occupying only two certain fingers to be responsible for your whole articles
. if you are using this full-finger method already, that's great, you just need to improve the speed by practicing. but if you haven't tried that, now is the right time to start. if you don't want to use any software, just buy a 'how to type' book at least to get the 'keyboard map'. here are some tips:
1. learn the 'keyboard map' sincerely, with expecting the best result.
2. be strict on your practice and the 'job description' of your each finger. if the letter w, s, and x is to be pushed using the left ring finger, don't use your left index finger or even right little finger LOL.
3. be strict to always watch the text you type or the screen (if you are composing some article), not the keyboard.
4. well, bottom-lining the former responder, practice makes perfect.
good luck!

i believe it's relatively cheap. you don't need to buy it online. it's a general and easily gotten book. just try the local bookstores or libraries. good luck!

Typing is not a difficult task to master. Take my example. I never took help of any software but now I have a speed of 50-60 wpm. Its all just practice. The best tip I can give is keep posting on mylot and gradually u will increase your speed. lol.
1) Try to remember the keys.
2) Try not to look at the keyboard while typing.
3) Remember "Practice makes the man Perfect."
All the best.

Well, I am not a faster typist, but I have made a lot of progress since I started to participate in discussions at mylot, which is a good way to enhance my typing speed. So I think that the best way to improve your typing speed is to do more practice. Have a good day, friend.

There are some tactics which help people to improve there typing speed such as :
1-Take a deep look at the keyboard and concetrit on the letters and on their positions.
2-Hide the keyboard and try to write a text without looking at your hands.
3-use an swatch or a chronometre to know your speed per minute ,and try each time to past your older time ,
4-You should keep going even if it seems bit hard to do, but if you have the attention to do it nothing can stops you .
Good luck .
