Obamas Wife?

Whats up with this woman? Even the reporters on TV are saying bad things about how she always has something negative to say about our country. I had to go back and listen to some of her speeches and they were right... It was almost like listening to his (Obama's) former pastor. In every speech I could find she has made some bad remark about the people of this country or about the USA in general. This coming from a woman who wants to be a "First Lady" sure isn't helping her husband. Does anyone know whether she has left the church that preaches racism? Or is it only him who has said he has forsaken this church he has been a member of for so many years? Even though he may have left this church it doesn't mean he doesn't believe what he has heard being drummed into his brain over this long period of time. What's your take on her and what she has been saying about our country. Do we need this kind of woman in the White House? I should hope not!

Scary isn't the word for what I feel. I just wish we actually had a person running for office that we could vote for. Neither candidate has given us any pertinent information that we can rely on. All we hear from Obama is "Change" (which by the way was the word Ronald Reagan ran for office on.) And McCain is just like any other republican, Bush included. I would like to hear more from his(Obamas')so called Islamic brother, that he hardly knows. He sure wasn't raised with him or any other of his black relatives. Where were they when he was growing up? Funny how all of a sudden he has an extended "black" family. If he isn't playing the race card then why include them in his life now?

Well first of all, no man is perfect, no matter what they believe in or say they will do, man will always let us down..So that said, vote for the lesser of 2 evils, like my husband says..

The first item of business in this election is for Americans to give Obama a thumbs down, regardless of who his opponent is. If Obama ran on what he really believes do you think he would win? He would definitely have trouble winning the election. Instead he lies himself into a moderate image and dupes many voters. McCain on the other hand is a different story. Because democrats have convinced everyone that President Bush is so bad, McCain has to sell himself as a maverick. In McCain's effort to not have the third term of President Bush, he has dumped the Republican party and especially the conservative faction. He is stuck in the middle and essentially has no party, thus it is harder to determine what he beleives. Obama on the other hand believes and lives the same things liberal democrats have been fighting for during the last 30 years. djbtol

Kowgirl, The fact still remains that Barack and Michelle were active members of this church for over 20 years. People just don't sit in submission to a pastor and his teachings for that long without some degree of agreement with what he is saying! Pastor Wright didn't start his sermons of hate in the past year or two, they have been a part of his ministry for decades which negates the assumption that Obama didn't know! The only reason Obama and his wife distanced themselves from Wright was it was hurting his campaign, period!

I would add that I don't think there is a netural ground with Rev. Jeremiah Wright's message. You either support it, or you can't stand it and leave the church. Based on the way his congregation interacts, I would say there is strong support for the Wright / Obama teaching. djbtol

I was wondering if SHE really did leave the church... From what I can find she was the one who got him to join this church. There is no way they can "change" their beliefs after having it drummed into their heads for that many years. Any psychologist will tell you that if you repeat something to a person over and over it will become a truth they believe and you can't change their minds even if they are removed from hearing it. It like being brainwashed.

I guess we have to give Michelle more time. Remember, she wasn't proud of her country until Obama (did I mention he's black) was running for president. They tried to give her a new image on The View, but since then we have not seen much of her. I can only imagine they decided it was far too risky to let people really know who she is. As far as Obama's mentor of 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, here is what someone had suggested. Obama claimed to not know that the Rev. Wright had these racist, hate-filled, anti-american views because he (Obama) has been sleeping through the sermons. Meanwhile, Michelle was awake for everyone of them. So it is possible that she is more screwed up than he is. djbtol

I don't doubt it, and she's behind him pushing him all the way.

It is my understanding that both she and Obama made speeches and wrote various texts that indicate their position that African Americans should create an uprising and take over the country, while indicating that they had no pride in our country because of the predominantly white politicians involved in running it. I've always been a pretty good judge of character just from watching people and studying their demeanor, and I think that woman does not need to be in the White House. While she has stepped back quite a bit during the campaign - evidently because she was doing more harm than good - I still believe that she is a powerful influence over Obama and would have more to do with his actions if he were elected President that would be good for our country!

Reminds me of the old saying "The woman who rocks the cradle rules the world" I too could see that she has influence over him and what he does. It's too late to step back after some of the things she has said. She was the one who announced as soon as Hillary was out of the race that "There is no way Hillary Clinton will be considered as a running mate with my husband" long before he got a chance to make a decisions. I really think that he may have had Hillary in mind for the V.P. but she changed that, and fast. I think she didn't want to share the White House with another woman, especially one who would have status above her and white.

Oh Yes, this is what I too have been saying. Otherwise where is all the money backing him coming from???? It surely can't be coming from the people in the USA. We can only pray that somehow they (Obamas) never get to set foot in the White House.

kowgirl I have never heard her say anything that most of us have not at one time or another said. I love my country but am not blind to some of its faults, and only an idiotwould say it is a perfect country.I dont think what she said was negative as much as how she could see that some things could be changed for the better, thats not negating our country at all. so minus me if you are silly enough to do so and I will report you, this is my opinion so respect it even if you disagree a whole lot. I am voting for Obama and its none of your business either. respect me as I respect you and i differ from you.

My dear Hatley I do not rate peoples opinions. But I do rate their attitude toward others. Opinions are just like as*holes, everyone has one. But not everyone makes an as*hole out of themselves by acting childish. And your threats are such a childish way to whine... You have the right to vote any way you want, and everyone should vote, it's our right and all should exercise those rights. BTW I am a democrat who will NOT vote for a man who is just being used as a way to get control of this country. Read the facts and then decide if you still want this puppet in office. Who is going to tell him what to do if or when he does get elected? I really feel sorry for those who can not see the truth when it is in front of their face. You have admitted that you have no respect for this country so why do you continue to live here?

I think this country will definitely be in trouble if Obama and his wife get to the White House! I agree that if something is drummed into your head for so many years that its not going to go away overnight! Will there be a black uprising if they get voted in? I'm fearful for all of us! We do not need these kind of people governing our country! VOTE for anyone BUT them!!!

I for one would rather vote with a write in than vote for Obama. Guess I could be called a traitor or a Democrat turned Independent. But no matter how we vote I have the feeling this election has already been FIXED.

First of all I want to say that I am not going to vote for a first lady but rather a president. Having said that, I want to say that the very first time I saw Michelle Obama , was on the Oprah show, way back when. This was before anything was said about his run for president. And right from the start, I thought she really got a kick out of belittling him in front of others. Yes, she said nice things about him but then in the same breath, she would get little digs in. I remember thinking that if she were a husband talking that way to his wife, we would be saying "What a Jerk!" I think she just has a negative personality in general. I don't think it's just about the country. I think she is just that way in general. I'm pretty sure that this personality is not one that is good for the diplomacy that will be required for being the first lady. However, this will play no deciding factor in my choice for president.
