Use of sour cream?

India

I recently bought a small container of sour cream hoping to use it on my strawberries but the fruits have all gone bad before I could use them. Anybody here knows what else can I use the sour cream for? I am a Vegetarian, so keep that in mind. I will be glad to know more recipes with sour cream on them.

I like to use it in my twice baked potatoes. I cook the potatoes in the microwave, scoop out the potatoe and leave the skins intact. In a bowl I mix the potatoe sour cream, spices of your choosing and mix it all together mashing the potato. I then put the mixture back in the potato, top with some cheese, then pop it in the oven to brown up. They are absolutely delicious and my family loves them. I constantly change the spices I use in it so as not to get bored with the same thing.

This recipe sounds delicious and the fact that all of us are huge potato eaters makes it even more useful. I must try it at the earliest! thanks for sharing.

There are many things that you can use sour cream in. Try them in baked potatoes. Load them with steamed veggies such as broccoli, melt some cheese over top, top with sour cream and dig in. Another thing is tacos or nachos. Keeping in mind that you are a vegetarian don't put the meat in of course. Another thing is perogies. So delicious with sour cream and that is actually how the ukraines eat them as well. Another thing is borsche. Rhubarb soup basically and top it with sour cream. Make some dip for chips or taco chips.

I am always losing my sour cream. I buy a small container too. I use it for perogies and dip, also for tacos. I hate that I end out losing it and throwing it out... and I only buy the smallest container.

I love sour cream, you can put it on baked potatoes, make frosting for cakes with it. It goes in some things like meatballs to make them swedish, I put it on everything even my steak. Use it in cake mixes, salads, depends on how well you like it, but I use it every day.

If you do any mexican foods, it certainly goes well on all of them. I knew someone years ago that made killer veggie tacos, and sour cream made a heck of a tasty addition to them. It's also great on baked potatoes or mixed into mashed/whipped potatoes (especially if you've got fresh chives to add to it). You can mix sour cream with salsa (ok, it's not very pretty) and it's quite tasty.

"Do Do Do Do the dollup." (Daisy sour cream commercial) There are so many things you canjust add a dollup of sour cream to that gives it that extra touch. Adding it to some soups makes a creamier soup too! Have fun with it! I love experimenting with new ideas.

I mix up sour cream with other creams and make a topping for pasta. Try to mix it with melted cheeses and finely chopped vegis. My family likes it, but it is rich and not something you can eat every day.

Put a package of onion soup mix in it and you've got a great chip dip.

I cut up cucumbers into very thin slices and then mix them in sour cream. Chill for about 15 minutes and eat with salt on top....yummy! Otherwise, you can use sour cream to make veggie dips. Add your favorite spices and you have a dip.
