If GMA were to drop dead, would you accept Noli as our President?

I have absolutely NO idea of Noli de Castro's governmental capabilities because he never left the "background", he never stood up, he simple toured the country endorsing Government projects. For someone who came from the Media, I expected him to be more opinionated. The guy has been so quiet, you'd think he's just afraid to make any mistake. Now that doesn't sound like a good quality for someone who can take over the country any moment something 'dismal' happens to our current president, right?

Sad to say, many electorates in the Philippines are really not using their minds when voting a person especially to a national post. Noli is a successful media man, but definitely not a good public servant and much less capable as a political leader. The thing with "popular" people is they always go into politics with no definite platform of governance. They just want to remain in the limelight and get a taste of power. Oh well.

Technically, Noli would be the next in line if in case GMA would step down on her post. I think Noli is just playing safe being in the group where he is right now. He joined a party that is so unpopular and full of intrigues and scandals. I think being a Vice President you would also try to uplift your image over the group's iomage. Trying to become low profile is not a sign of weakness though.

I'd probably give him a month or two to see what he could do. Like most Vice Presidents of the past, Noli has done nothing of much significance. Like you said, he's too quiet. Makes you feel like there's no Vice President at all... Maybe if he was given more responsibility and more power, he might actually do good for our country. If he does good within that 1-2 months, I'd probably accept him as president.
