Your dream home...

My last post was specifics about my childrens' rooms. Now I want to hear the layout or floorplan of your lottery winning home. Again, not something so crazy you can't live in it, but a house that would be absolutely perfect for your family. Sometimes the picture in head changes around a bit, and the design of my home changes some of the specifics of the kids' rooms. But it's a dream, and since I can't draw, it'll change until dreams come true. When you walk in to the foyer, there's a nice inviting bench to sit and take off your shoes and and to hang your coat. To the left is a livingroom which has a fireplace and some comfortable seating. After that is my study/library/office. Nothing too big, but comfortable. After the study is my bedroom and bathroom with a sliding glass door to the deck. Straight in from the foyer is the kitchen which is somehow able to be closed off for the safety of children, but can be completely opened for company. In the kitchen is a little breakfast nook, and a place to do homework. Through the kitchen is the pantry and a nice sized laundry room with a door to the backyard so muddy kids can take off the dirty stuff before prancing through the house. The dining room is just off the kitchen with a nice little table that can be extended for any number of guests. There would be a second, child-proofed, step down living/TV room. It would have another door to the back yard. There would be a nice TV with DVD and of course TIVO for all the missed episodes of House. The room would be gated to contain our 2 fuzzy ferrets, Molly and Emma with plenty of climbing and hiding spots for them. There would be a couch and lots of bean bags and fuzzy moon chairs. Upstairs would have the kids' bedrooms and playrooms. In each bedroom would be a "secret" passage leading to a loft for their libraries which would follow their room themes (in a previous post). In between their rooms are 2 bathrooms for each with linen closets and a long hallway for running. That's just about the best I can explain my layout. I'm missing loads of closets, and where the stairs would go. There would also be a garage and a swing on the wrap around deck. The backyard would have the beautiful playset I can't even afford to *LOOK* at right now! Everything would be carefully gated for the protection of the kids. What's your dream home?

Hi Autismmom2, my dream how is bungalow with 3 stories high. It must have 6 bedrooms. First is master bed room, then 2 room for my mother and mother in law, 1 room for my little princess, 2 for customer rooms. Also, each room must attach with bathroom. Bathroom must with Jacuzzi. For living room, i need 2, dinning room i only need 1, because i want the whole family to eat together anytime for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even supper. Also, i need a fully equip kitchen as my in law is a great cook, she have lots of cooking tools to produce good and nice food. Last but not least, the bungalow must with some space for cars, best is with big garden too. Till this point, i believe i should work more hard so to achieve that.

My husband and I have been married for more than five years now but unfortunately, we still don't have our own house and lot because we can't afford it until now. But I already told my spouse that I'd like to personally design the house if and when we already can afford to purchase a parcel of land. To this, he immediately agreed even if I'm not a house designer or an architect. I told him that I'd prefer for us to have a three-storey house in the countryside. The ground floor would naturally house our visitor's lounge or receiving area and our dining room, aside from one toilet and bath. Just outside the house, we would also have a car and/or a van parked on the side. Our rooms, preferrably three rooms (master's bedroom for me and my spouse, another room for our daughter who is now three years old, and the other room for our future son) would all be located in the second floor. The top floor would be the recreational spot for parties and get-togethers with friends and relatives. There would also be a specific area for hanging the laundry where the sun could easily penetrate. And, I'd like to have another toilet and bath over here for us and for the guests. I'd also like to have a garden in front of our house where one could see some flowering plants thriving there. Aside from this, I'd want to have a backyard where I could plant some fruits and veggies so that I could ensure that we are eating fresh foods and be self-sufficient at the same time. This is my dream house but I'd still like to check the specifications to be sure that they conform with the feng shui principles because I personally believe in this. I'd like to go on so I'll include the separate hectare or couples of hectares of land which hopefully, we'll be able to buy in the future. This will be utilized for plantation of several fruits (avocado, chico, rambutan, lychees, bananas, etc) and other veggies (eggplants, okras, string beans, bittermelon, squash, etc) which are not available in the backyard. Eventually, if there will be more than enough for our family and relatives, these would be sold at the local market for disposal of the excess harvest.

Ok, here we go... 3 stories. The lowest level would be a finished basement with a bathroom, a storage room and big room. It would be a game room. A pool table, air hockey table, maybe a few old arcade/pinball games. On the middle level would be the standard living space. Living room, bathroom, dining room. Big @ss kitchen. Kitchen would have a large pantry, pots and pans hanging from a rack on the ceiling, an island with a cooktop and a cutting board. 2 ovens, set into the wall (the microwave would be set into the wall, too). There'd also be a nice little dining area in there, as well. I like the idea of there being an entry area where wet/muddy boots and other gear can be removed and stowed before coming into the main area of the house, so I think that would be a plus. On the top floor would be the bedroom. 4 of them, plus a large storage/linen closet and a bathroom. In the master bedroom, there'd be a bathroom as well. That bathroom would have a shower stall and a jacuzzi tub. 2 of the other bedrooms would be adjoining. They'd be a bedroom and a play room. The 4th bedroom would be a computer room/office. Outside, there'd be a nice big yard (front and back). The back yard would be fenced (privacy fence). It would have a gazebo with a hot tub in it. A nice vegetable garden, a dog run and a big section for playing in. In the front, a wraparound porch (across the front and down the side), with a trellis covered in honeysuckle.
