I made some white chocolate and milk chocolate suckers this week for the gas station. Yesterday afternoon when I went in there they were no longer on the counter. Sherry that lady that was working pulled them out from behind the counter. The milk chocolate ones were completely melted, but the white chocolate ones were still in tact. The sun had been shining on them all morning and they melted. I don't understand why the milk chocolate ones would melt and not the white chocolate. Anybody have any ideas on why that would be?

White chocolate has a higher melting point than milk. As white chocolate doesn't contain cocoa solids, it's technically not actually a chocolate.

I knew it was not really chocolate, but I did not think about the different melting points.

Milk chocolate is still chocolate. White chocolate is a diffrent family. But I cannot remember the name. Sorry this happened I hope it didn't cost you too much money.

Well, white chocolate is chocolate with something or another removed. This probably gives it a different melting point. Ice with salt laid on top of it has a 'lower' melting point.
