Do you use emoticons/ smileys while starting a discussion? / myLot

I never do..I use the emoticons while responding to the discussions. But not when I start my own discussion. Because many times I forget it and sometimes I feel it as unnecessary..How about you? Do you use smileys while starting a discussion?

I do it every blue moon or so. But, I usually will use it when I am responding and commenting on an discussion.. When starting an discussion, I don't usually use the icons right then and there. I will use it later on in the discussion.

I too use smileys with my discussions and comments but not when starting the discussion. I think using smileys in the discussion will not give a good look to the topic..So I avoid using them with the discussions I start..
