if you had to, could you change a flat tire by yourself?

I had done it several times, each time with several years apart. The most recent happened in mid August, done by people with mischievous intention. The time was 9pm and it was already dark in the night. However, I managed to get all the tools out from my car booth and start jacking up my car. The front left tyre had been deflated by people apparently because the technician found no leak after I send it to the shop for a check. The process is not complicated. Just unloosing and tightening the nuts are tiresome.

Thanks for the best response! I hope all the car driver should be equipped with such skill. It's very important especially if you are alone in deserted area, where you can't get help from others. But we should be wary while changing the tire as well, so that we won't get mugged by opportunist criminals.

I could when I was younger but not now. I know how to do it as I've seen it done many times. I have back problems now and it's hard to bend over so I couldn't so much of anything with a tire. Last time I had a flat was about 3 yrs. ago. It happened on a busy bridge. All I could do was coast to the end of the bridge, by downshifting, and pull off the side of the highway. Turned on my flashers, called the police first, called a tow truck and then called one of our kids to let her know I was running late to meet her.

If I have to...then of course I would and I could. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't do man stuff. It's the new era and if we really set our minds in what we're doing we can accomplish things.

I can do it, yes. I do not like to change a tire by myself, but I do know how to do it. I have only ever changed a tire a few times. Most of the time someone else does it for me.

Well, I know that it is quite difficult for a woman to do such job. But if you just put your mind to it, you can surely can. The important thing is to consider safety.

I don't drive, and I never have, so I don't think I'd need to know. Besides, I can see to do it in the first place. That's why I don't drive. However, if I could see well enough to drive, then I'd change the tire, no problem. My husbnad is legally blind, and doesn't drive either. As far as we're concerned, that's up to the bus/taxi/limo driver to do that. LOL
