it was my friends sons 21st last week. I sent him a card with a cheque and a Euro Millions ticket for his special day and when I phoned him on the day he saif thank you for the card bless, but it arrived back at mine today, NOT KNOWN AT THIS ADDRESS, I had only gone and put 21 on the envelope as his house number instead of 29 as I had 21st on my mind. OOOPS. I have texted his mum to say and will resend correctly, so what daft things have you done lately or have you ever sent to wrong address. Reminds me of an Elvis record, Return to Sender, Adress unknown LOL. Please share your funniest stories. Ellie :D

Hahahaha - I think it's lovely your friend's son thanked you for the card - it shows he has lovely manners, even though the card hadn't arrived yet! (His mum would be proud.) I couldn't even begin to list the daft things I've done. Just recently I told my husband the speedo thingie in the car wasn't working. The next time he used the car, he came home puzzled and told me it was fine. He asked me when I'd noticed it wasn't working, and I said it was while I was waiting at the lights on the highway. Well, duh. He was astounded. I've never felt so embarrassed in my life ... well, I probably have, actually. I think sometimes my aged brain just turns itself off and doesn't register common sense.

Now that is a very embarrassing moment, no speedo works at traffic lights when stopped eh! I can't believe you done that, at least 21 for 21st birthday is understandable. Just having a moment were you, LOL, LOL. Thanks for sharing that has given me a real giggle. Huggles. Ellie :D1 person likes this

It happened to me when i sent a birthday card for my boyfriend(my husband now).I mistakenly wrote the zip code and i didn't noticed that.I kept asking if he had received it but he said no.And suddenly it was returned to me
.I've been sending him cards and something many times but then i wrote his zip code wrong at that time without noticing it.

Hi MsEdge, It is ver frustrating at the time though when you are waiting for someone to receive something like this especially when it is for a special occasion. He must have understood bless for you to be married to him now. Thank you for sharing. Seasons greetings. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hey Ellie.
Well, one time when I was mailing out my Christmas cards, I sent one to my sister in St. Louis, Missouri. I had her correct street name and address except for I put my own city, state, and zip code instead of hers.
Well, I felt pretty silly when it was returned to me in the mail and I saw what I did! That was a few years ago. Now, I just do a mail merge and print mailing labels for my cards (I mail out over 60 every year). So, I'm hoping I've now got everyone's address in my Excel program correctly.
So, don't feel bad.

Wow that is daft!! My BF loves that Elvis record - Return to Sender!!
I think I may have given out my wrong number but the reason being when we moved to Yorkshire we lived with my BF's uncle and had all our mail go to his parents house. When we got our own place, we are number 14 and Road and his parents are 15 and Way. The street name is the same so is easy to get confused.

I see that i forgot to respond to this topic yesterday - but seeing it now again i remembered it - it's quite funny actually but don't worry it happens to most of us - i mean confusion of numbers or words, especially when you are thinking of one thing and trying to write another.
Thanks for sharing and sorry for not sharing any fun story at the moment but i am a bit sleepy - i think this is one of my last posts for today
Take care

Every year we send a card to my brotehr -in-law on his birthdayand it always reaches about one month after his birthday. The address is correct but it is never on time. Minimum a month late. I do not know the reason for this. All other letters to him reach on time. Surprising and funny.

Hi Mercuryman, How very strange that it is just his birthday card that doesn't arrive on time, funny though but for the last 20 years prior to his 21st birthday card I have always sent for his due date rather than birth date and his mum and I had a good giggle over my mistake as she said why change for his 21st and let him get on the day. LOL. Ellie :D

Hi ellie,
ohh...It happens to me also, I was very excited mailing a T-shirt to a friend and it was more than 3 weeks already, she didn't get it and after several days, I got it back! Huhh! SO, I had to send it again and instead of giving her a surprise, have to asked her the address to confirm again! LOL!

Actully about a month ago I paid a bill.....three days later it was returned to me. I had put the bill inside backwards so the address was not visible! I was kinda of mad at myself as I wasted postage but oh well...now I am more careful to put them in the envelope more carefully!

Hi Jill, So it is not just me then LOL. It will cost me another large letter stamp too, but what I can't understand is why the people at 21 didn't just post through 29s door, that is what I would have done as the reset was addressed correctly including the post code, very strange. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi Ellie..can't think of anything lately I've done thats been daft except when I have my blonde days and remember that it was my step-mum's birthday September the 16th then when on the phone to my mum she said don't forget Deans birthday Monday...which happened to be the 16th September...I remembered that it wasn't my step-mum's birthday and had to send another birthday card rather toot sweet to my nephew instead!! My dad and stepmum made a joke out of it..yet for years I had always gotten their birthdays muddled up as hers is April the 16th!..love and Huggles littleowl p,s, hope that made sense

Hi Littleowl, That did make perfect sense, I remember sending my mum a happy anniversary card one year on friday the thirteenth but it was the wrong friday the 13th. They in fact met on October 13th and I sent it earlier in the year so we all do it eh! Huggles. Ellie :D
