What do you like to crochet?

So, mom and I have recently dived back into crochet with both feet. I've done a blanket, a hat and scarf and I'm working on another blanket. I also did a rat igloo that I hope will help the pet rats one of my best friends has to stay warm this winter. Mom's done an afghan and countless hat and scarf sets (for her kids and grandkids for Christmas). Now, I do plan to do at least 1 more blanket after the one I'm working on, but... What next? I mean, you can only have so many hats, scarves and blankets. What do you like to crochet? I contemplated (and will probably do) a few stuffed animals I found patterns for. But what else? I don't know anyone who wears sweaters. So... besides hats, scarves, blankets, toys and rat igloos, what do you crochet?

Currently I am just working on hats and blankets for neonatal babies , and afghans for Disaster Relief. I have done Christmas ornaments, made crocheted flowers, made baskets , toilet tissue covers, rugs, bottle covers for baby bottles or water bottles. Just some of the ideas I can think of that I have done. Just look around your home and you will think of lots of things. Oh also I have done dishcloths, and hot pads.

BusyB, I didn't know you did that! I can't crochete (probably can't spell it either) very well, been a long time. But I can sew a fairly straight line, maybe we could start quilts or something for disaster relief. What a cool idea!

Hey Lu, Yes my craft room would be your cats heaven! Yarn everywhere! LOL!! I would love to know how to quilt. My sister makes quilts for Disaster Relief too. I am just not sure I would have the patience. If you would be interested in doing some 100% cotton flannel blankets for the hospital, let me know. I started this as a stress reliever for me here at home about four or 5 months ago with the ladies at church. So far this year, we have taken up 65 blankets to East, and hats and dresses and some booties. Have a good day!

Ooh, let's see here. Aside from what you mentioned, my big thing I make is armwarmers--just simple tubes with a hole for your thumb. They're pretty easy to make, and the trick for the thumb hole is just to chain a couple of stitches and skip over a couple of stitches, and then resume the right number of stitches on the next row. I'm not sure if that explanation will make sense--I can't write patterns to save my life. I just make up things as I go and then write down notes that make me remember what to do. :)
