Have you ever put too much garlic or pepper on your food while cooking?

Awhile back, I was making tuna macaroni on the stove top.
And when I tried to add black pepper, the top of
the pepper container popped off and the entire bottle poured out into
my food.
I tried to scoop out the excess.
But, most of the black pepper ended up in the meal.
Tasted very bad!
Have you ever put too many spices into your food while cooking?
How did you remedy the situation?

hi, BQ..If i put too many salt or pepper or any other spices, I usually counter it with brown sugar. And it actually works, every single time.. though I dont know if it will work with a whole bottle of pepper
...maybe put the same amount of brown sugar??
juz kidding....

We use garlic in most of our dishes...and I love garlic (it's good for health too)...so it wouldn't matter if I used a little more....but I doubt that would happen because I hate peeling it and so end up using less than I want to.
As far as pepper goes, most indian dishes are spicy and my husband doesn't mind it being spicy hot (I'm the one who can't stand too much chilli). So, that's fine too.
Once, I put in too much turmeric powder in a dish (the container slipped out of my hand as I was putting in a pinch that was needed). I scooped the excess out with a spoon but couldn't get everything out and the dish turned out bright yellow. Though the dish tasted different, it was something edible.

Hello beauty queen. Sometimes when I cook, I put some garlic powder and black pepper powder a little bit too much when I try to pour some into the dish, but it is ok because I don't care too much about what I do to the dish so long as it is bearable to me. lol

I dont add pepper to my cooking as I dont like it and my BF always adds more when its dished up on the plate. The way I see it, he can add how much he wants to flavour the food. I dont tend to use garlic and if I do it will be one or two cloves so I dont have that over powering garlic smell. There's nothing worse than garlic breath the next day!!

lol....
ewww...
i hate it when that happens!!!
it tastes so disgusting!!!
when my mom added too much salt in food, or MSG, or...
the worse is sugar!!!
we dont use black pepper, so i dont think that applies...
if you can you can wash it...
add hot water, drain it off, start over...
careful though...
it can taste worse...
if you dont do it carefully...
i dont know how my mom does it...
lol...

My husband put too much garlic in some guacamole one day, and I thought it was way too strong. I am one of those poor unfortunate souls who absolutely wreaks after eating garlic, and the more I eat, the stinkier i get. Needless to say, after having to sleep with me that night, he never made that mistake again.

Hi beautyqueen, this happened once when I was younger. Just like you, when I poured some soy sauce straight away onto the fried rice in the wok. To my surprise the plastic cover with holes on top of it suddenly popped off. OMG nearly half bottle of the fluid flow onto rice in the wok. It was really annoying!
I then tried to dilute the salty taste by pouring hot water from the flask onto it immediately. I then tried to scoop out the excessive solution and kept on frying until the fried rice to become dry again. Of course it won't taste as delicious as usual.
Since then I won't pour any sauce directly to the food or wok anymore.
posting and take care.
