I have decided to go back

Will you do the same if you are in a situation like this? This is the scenario: You got sick in a foreign land and had to wait for someone to take you to the doctor. You do not know the place nor the language. You waited for two months before you went to the doctor because everybody was busy. Then the doctor said you needed to rest in bed for a week and not lift anything heavy. But you could not because no one was there to help you with the kids and house work. So you are still sick. Six months have passed and after living like a prisoner, sick and helpless, you still haven't taken that medical test you need to take. You're thinking, what if you have something really bad? Who will take care of your children in this country? Who will help you? You asked for help but you only got promises. You were asked to stay in the country for a year more so you can have enough money before going home. You're thinking, what about you? What if that money would just be enough for your medical bills if your situation worsens? Then you finally get to go back to your country a few dollars richer but very sick, and could not work nor take care of your children anymore? So you decide to go back to your country -as soon as you can, in any way you can - where you are free and happy and healthy. Will you do this? Or you may have other options?

If I were in that situation and had the option of going home, I'd go home. No doubt about it. There is nothing like home with family and friends if you are sick. That way, you'd have someone to help with the children, too.

Thanks barb. I am working on this now, but seems like i have to wait for more than 6 months. I hope it would be soon. I can actually have someone here to help me with my kids but it is really way much better when it is someone from the family or a friend in my own country, someone i know and can really trust.

Pinky, I hope the time is cut short and you'll be able to go home soon. There is nothing like family when it comes to help with your children. It is easier to rely on or ask the people closest to you. Is your husband working there on a contract or had you moved there to live and work?

This is the home country of my husband and he is working here. He can quit his job anytime he wants but he could not just do that because i want to go home. So i have to wait until we have saved enough even just for air fare. I do hope time is cut short just for me. Thanks barb.

It sounds perfectly understandable that you wish to go home if this is what your life is like pinky. If you DO end up heading back to your country then I wish you all the best with the transition and I hope that it goes as smoothly as possible for you. If you end up staying, then I also hope that you can eventually find a happy medium that takes into account your own best interests, health and happiness.

Thanks James. There's really no place like home - a place where i feel comfortable, free, and happy - and though my loves and life (sons and husband) are here, i still long for freedom and comfort they way my country gives me. Thanks for your well wishes.
