How many people out there still use icetrays?? Or do you have an automatic ice maker?? Which do you prefer??
I would love to have an automatic ice maker. Unfortunately I don't and I still use icetrays. It can be annoying cause not everyone in the house fills them back up. LOL.

I use my ice trays, but not for making ice. When I need ice I just go buy a bag at the store and save myself the trouble of refilling the tray a million times. One of the ways I use my ice trays is to portion and freeze baby food. Instead of buying the expensive jars of baby veggies I just buy cans of veggies with no salt added and pop them in the blender. When they are smooth I pour it into the ice trays and freeze. After they are frozen it is a cinch to pop them into a freezer bag. Then at meal time I can just grab a cube or two, warm it up and it is the right amount for baby. I also use other ice trays for craft time. They are great for sorting beads, making homemade water color paint(water and food coloring) and tons of other things. Can you think of any other ways to use ice trays?

I also still use ice cube trays. There are 5 in my freezer and the kids and hubby know that I expect them to be filled when used. Luckily, I am usually the one who uses them so I know that they are filled when I want them. I eat several trays of ice per day so I like to have them ready when I want them.

Our fridge has an automatic ice maker. I wouldn't care if I had to use ice trays though. I honestly really do not use ice. Usually, I just let my beverage chill. The only time I really use ice is when I eat out.

Neither..I buy a bag of ice that should keep for a week or so.
I've been doing this for years so it works for me ....

i have an automatic ice maker. I like it alot more than ice cube trays because you always have ice and dont have to worry about making it all the time. The only down side is that sometimes it gets stuck or jammed somehow and the ice will melt into a glob. That is not too much fun.

I have also always wanted to have an automatic ice maker, but they are expensive and so I still stick to the old fashioned way of ice trays! Mind you, I need to have a new freezer and so I reckon that I will have a new one that maybe makes ice cubes if they do one! I know that I can get one that dispenses water.

We have an automatic ice machine, it was something I knew I wanted to get when we bought a new fridge. The problem with ice trays is that there is always someone in the house that will not replace the water in the trays when they use up the ice, and then you go in there really thirsty wanting a cold drink and there is no ice. I hate that.

Ofcourse I am still using icetrays (almost said housetrays, don't know why
! And I wouldn't even wanna change to an automatic icemaker if I could, because you would be dependend on the machine. If it's not working, you won't be having any ice when you needed it! Though with icetrays, this could actually not happen. The only thing that could go wrong with that is a blackout or you forgot to refill it! but then it would be a human mistake, and not a machinery failure! So just keep it on housetrays! Maybe not as easy as automatice icemakers, but 100% sure of quality and working!

I have an automatic ice maker too. I got one when I had to replace my refrigerator. I used to use ice trays and it was a constant battle of trying to find the guilty party that wouldn't fill them back up! LOL
The downside to having automatic ones is your freezer is smaller. They do take up a lot of room and in mine eliminates too much space. But I wouldn't go back to the mystery game! LOL

I still use the good old ice-trays.I would love to have an automatic icemaker too because nobody wants to fill the trays when they become empty.I don't know how many times i went to the freezer to get some cubes and bang-all empty-its not hard to fill but they just don't seem to have the time but then again they will respond to where are the ice cubes[lol]
