The most important thing is that your LCD TV has an VGA-connection. Without an VGA-Connection, you won't be able to connect your PC to it, but I must say that nowadays most LCD TVs have that.. And now to connect it! It's quite easy, you just need to buy a connector switch. You'll have to buy (in every computer store available) an DvI cable with a DVI to HDMI adapter. This will makes you able to connect it to your graphics card, and voila! You'll see your PC on the LCD TV! This is done in only a minute if you've got all the stuff, but you need to do this very careful! Because it's easy to break something off the adapter, and then you can just throw it away..Another thing that I'd like to mention is that the resolution from PC to LCD will be a lot less..At least, that's what I've heard. But for playing games, and watching movies/shows, it's a perfect solution!

I'm not really knowledgeable about electronics but what I know is that there is what they call a plain LCD TV and a LCD-Monitor. The plain LCD TV of course is just for TV output. The LCD-Monitor can work either as for your TV or as computer monitor. So I guess you have to check first if what you got there is a LCD-Monitor. =)
