In my traveling I have been para sailing three times. It wasn't scary at all because it was like flying as bird does in the sky. I have taken off and landed on a beach, pontoon in the sea and in a boat. From the air I saw the reef and tropical islands. I did that once in Fiji and twice in Australia. In Tunisia I had a wind surfing lesson for one hour. I stood on the board then just flopped into the water. I was hopeless at it and got really sore hands. I snorkeled for the first time at the Great Barrier Reef. Wow! I saw the colorful coral and many friendly fish of all different sizes and many vivid looking colors. Since then I have snorkeled in French Polynesia where I saw sting rays and black tipped sharks. I saw nurse sharks in Belize. Off the coast of Western Australia I saw a manta ray that gilded along very quickly and a turtle. In New Zealand I snorkeled around dolphins.
Would you like to try a water sport? If so which? If not why?
Which activities have you done in water?

I can see that your have the spirit needed for adventure and exciting water sports. I hope that you will try out snorkeling and later take up scuba diving. It would be wonderful if you went jet skiing and superb if you went para sailing. I adore spending time on tropical beaches.

I too have been snorkelling but have yet to try scuba diving. I have also tried wind surfing, surfing, water skiing, canoeing and a number of other things. I love anything to do with water! I know the manta ray's you talk about in Western Australia too. I remember being in a row boat off the southern coast when I was a chikd and having a manta ray pass under the boat that was so big its wings could be seen from each side at once! I have also been surfing while dolphins, turtles and sharks have been swimming around me. The best thing I saw when surfing though was when a migrating whale swam past. It was a short distance away but very clear and noisy!

Wow! I am certainly not as adventurous as you are my friend! Takes a lot of courage for me to swim in a foreign ocean let alone do any water sports or swim with animals, at the mention of sharks I wouldn't step foot in the water I don't care if they are not man eaters or not, yes I know I am a cowardly wolf, just not adventurous when it comes to the water, the closest I get is a glass bottom boat in Rhodes and that was a wonderful experience!

I've already done canoeing, but I'd like to try kayaking and whatever those boats are in Hawaii. I've also used a row boat and a foot pedal boat. I've done a lot of swimming, too. Sailing seems kind of complicated for the enjoyment. I like something you can make glide and then rest and observe the beauty. Sailboats, you have to keep checking everything all the time. If you relax, the mask or some cross piece could hit you in the head.

I love the water. I grew up with camping and fishing and boating and I have raised my kids with the same ways. I love to swim and boating, that is my favourite. I love the water as it relaxes me and helps me to forget about my problems, even if only for a few hours.
I have been on little boats like canoes and I have been on big boats like yachts and I have been on big sale boats with cabin cruisers in side, where you sleep on the boat. I used to go out with a guy that had a big sailboat and we used to go out every weekend and spend the weekend on it. Those were the best days of my life. I miss them. I miss the boat not the guy.
I have never gone snorkelling but I would like to try it. I hear it is a lot of fun. I just haven't really had the opportunity yet. This winter my daughter and I are going on a winter holiday to Mexico and so we will go snorkelling then, She went last year and she swam with the dauphins and she loved it. Dauphins are here favourite and she collects all kinds of ornaments and lights and such, of Dauphins.
It makes it easy to buy here gifts since she loves them so much. When ever I see something in the store that is a dauphin, I buy it for her.
