What would you put up with from your husband?

My life right now is really crappy. My husband is working long hours and expects me to be there for him at any time. Part of the problem is that I have 4 children that all live at home. 21, 16, 13, and 10 are their ages. When he comes home and I am doing something with them, he expects me to drop everything for him. I AM REALLY HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THIS. We have been married 23 1/2 years now. I feel that my children need me more right now as they grow. Any suggestions or insights out there? I am pretty much at wits end with it all.

both of you need to come to a 1/2 way point. i would assume the children are his too right? since your children are older (not babies or toddlers) and they can do some things on their own you should be able to spend more time with him. depending on the time your husband comes home, you can try to get things done before he gets home so when he does come home you can spend a little more time with him. well, it all depends on what he wants. but that's just 1/2 of it.
you need to talk to your husband to let him understand that he's a grown man and can wait his turn when you are busy. my children expect me to drop everything for them my husband should be patient.
my children are still young and still need supervision so i don't know what its like to have older and adult children to help me. i would guess since they are there and older they should help out around the house a little, or you should make them at least.
