I love going to SPAs. It is so relaxing and rejuvenating. Although I do not go as often as I like, mainly because of financial reasons, I still cherish the times when I was able to go. Because of my love for SPAs, this TIME magazine (10/6/08) article about A SPA THAT SLITHERS caught my attention. Instinctively, I read through the article and it got me fascinated. I mean, you've heard about SPAs that use chocolate, mud, seasalt, hot rocks and all those other common things. But have you heard of a SPA that uses SNAKES? Yep, you read it right snakes. Here is an excerpt from that article that I want to share with you so that you'll read on your own what I am talking about. (written by: Tim McGirk and Talmei Elazar) Most SPAs have names that conjure up an atmosphere of bliss and tranquility. So I am a little taken aback by the sign outside the SPA in the orange groves of northern Israel. It reads, ADA BARAK'S CARNIVOROUS PLANT FARM. Barak makes most of her income by showing off her plants, which eat everything from insects to reptiles to small mammals and schnitzel. She started grabbing one of the little snakes slithering in and out of the hungry plants' jaw and passing it around to visitors at the end of her act. And that is how she hit on the snakes' therapeutic value. ***** And the article continued to describe how it felt to be "slithered" onto by the snakes. But I don't think I'll be able to enjoy it. I am terribly afraid of snakes! Would you try this one?

I love to swim in an indoor swimming pool, relax in a jacuzzi, have a hot stone massage, some reiki or some reflexology. I am keen on aromatheraphy because I like the different fragrances. Most spas conjure up images of relaxation and complete bliss where a person returns home feeling refreshed. I think that the ladies plants sound horrible because they swallow insects, animals and reptiles. I touched a snake when I was a child when an animal keeper visited my school. The snake felt soft and dry not at all slimy. I wouldn't want to touch a snake now I am grown up. I would be likely to scream with treasure if I was laying down at the spa and a snake slithered over me. Oh, my, that would be scary and I would feel terrified. I have snorkeled with small sharks and sting rays, looked a crocodiles from the safety of a boat and held a huge spider. However I am afraid of snakes. Walking on an island in Australia we saw a snake and that scared us a great deal. Some snakes in Australia are deadly and I wouldn't go near one of them.

yeah, I know some snake are deadly...and even if the lady there tell me that the snakes in her spa are not, i wouldn't still have the guts to try it!
