What would you do if you want to save money but you feel boring to stay at home?

Sometimes,I experience this kind of situation especially during weekends. I want to save money and plan to stay at home, but I always find it very boring to stay at home. I have my internet and television with lots of DVDs at home, but I still find it very boring to stay at home. Why? I wish to cheer myself up by surfing some interesting websites or get some movies to watch, but I still feel the boredom. I have complained several times to my boyfriend, his answer is I am a boring person who cannot try to find fun at home. Is this true? Do you experience this before? Please feel free to drop comments. Thanks.

Your boyfriend sounds kind of mean. I think that there are a lot of people who need to be active. There are all types of people in this world, and they all have different interests. While your boyfriend may like to stay home and read, play games, and watch television, you may need to do something more physical like dancing, skiing, or jogging in the park. If sports is not your thing perhaps you just need social interaction like book readings, clubs, etc. If you enjoy doing physical activities I suggest taking up running. Its always free. If you want to talk and make friends check the local library for free community classes, women's clubs, book clubs, book readings, etc. Good luck on trying to find something fun that interests you.

When I was a teenager I felt the same way numerous times. I literally hated staying at home all day anyday. I just couldn't find anything to spike my mood. Like you, I had lots of entertainment at home, but honey I wasn't feeling it one bit, I just had to go out to enjoy myself. Movies, skating,Bowling,Dinner Out,Talent Show. I even joined the talent show and actually won a few times from dancing. I'm different now, I'm almost never bored at home, or hardly anywhere else. I consider myself a built in entertainment system. As long as I have myself, I will never be bored. The people around me thinks I'm a fun person to hang around. I agree. Happy Mylotting!

Saving money now is important. Yes I love to get out. So I will go for a walk with my daughter. She loves nature. She likes going on leaf hunts. Or yesterday we went to the park. Just being outside the same 4 walls every once in a while can be nice.

Hi there! Well there are persons whose not a homebody and not used to staying home for long hours doing nothing and they easily gets bored. I am a homebody person and I can stay at home just working on mylot. It really depends on ones attitude. If you're not used to doing one thing then you may not be interested with it but it can be learned. Just try to think of things that you can do inside the house aside from just watching TV and surfing the net. It seems those 2 things can't make you satisfied yet. You can read books, bake, cook or do stuffs like going over your things and organizing them. Find things that will occupy your mind and prevent yourself from constantly looking at the clock, as if you're waiting for something interesting to happen. Just keep on doing things and you won't notice how fast time flies. Hope that helps. Ciao!

I'd say go out and do stuff just don't spend any money. Go shopping at the mall just to get out of the house just don't bring any money or way to pay for anything with you so your not tempted to buy anything. Do it just for the recreation. It's a good way to see what you would like for the future when it's on sale and not spend any money.

i feel the same way sometimes its kinda like why am i sitting aound the house when i could be out there spending money i even went to walmart and bought a model to build thinking this will take awhile and take away my bordeom but all that happend is i got bored building the model and i was still out of the money for purchasing the model. The thing i found that helped is find things to do out of the house that does not cost any money like taking a walk or look in the paper for events going on around your town that are free or even a low cost event will take your day up

If staying at home isn't for you try to find free activites within your community. Sometimes there are car shows, music concerts (in the park) or other community activities that require no admission fee. Seek out such events to subside your boredom and keep from making a dent in your pocket book.

Why dont you call your boy friend and just speak to me him other than searching fun at home? i dont go out anywhere and my guy is abroad for work so no hang outs too , so i just sit and home and work here , so that i can keep myself engaged so that i wont feel bored. If i feeltired of sitting before pc then i just misscall my guy and he calls me back and we speak together for sometime even hours and thus how i lead my day during weekends , will this not work for you??

Perhaps you've done enough at home. You probably need to get out and do more active stuff outside. Or maybe you work during the days and find that staying at home is impossible. I see this in my little siblings a lot. They want to get out and actively pursue interests and that requires funds but all in all they sleep well at night. :) If you really wanted to save you wouldn't be doubting but it takes a lot of practice and patience to understand when. That also means support. If you're complaining a lot about this and everyone who's listening will use it against you. So prove it to yourself if it's a personal goal. Good luck to you with that! Hmmmm, on the other hand ... why not learn how to make a little more money online then spend it outside. :) You can check out my profile for some actively paying sites to try. Cheers!

yenwie I think you need a new boyfriend. we all feel like gettingout of the house ocassionally to vist someone , or eat out, or go see a movie, or go dancing. You are not a boring person, and we are all different. Your boy friend if he really loved you would want you to be happy and maybe suggest something to do that wouldnt be expensive. Just going to viist friends isnt costly, or taking a walk, or packing up a lunch and going on a picnic, or going fishing, there is a zillion inexpensive things you could do. If you live close to an ocean or lake go strolling on the shore and watch the waves.

Wow, you are lucky man, you have so much time for yourself, really envy on your situation. For me, if really have so much time, i would clean my house, because i don't like dirty or dusty environment. I found cleaning is kind of fun cause the after effect is i have a very clean house and feel fresh and great. Also, with the internet, definitely i will get into MyLot, that's where we can earn some money here. So happy myloting. All the best.

I am feeling the same way, but its just the saving money bit. It's not like you'll be boring forever. Well, scientifically to make you happy you have to produce Endorphins, by doing that there are a few ways. I've yet to try them but, you have to try doing some sports, eat chocolates, bananas and also stress. It is the natural way and its healthy as well.

it's true we can find fun at home but if you stay at home all the time, you will find it boring. you can go out and find fun without any cost. going window shopping, strolling in parks can cheer you up. riding a bike with your boyfriend to the countryside to enjoy the fresh air and sunlight is also a good idea.

Your boyfriend was a bit harsh in his critique. However, sitting around watching movies and surfing the Internet can leave one feeling bored and discontented. That doesn't mean that you have to go out and spend money. That does mean that you need to find low- and no-cost things to do. Take up a hobby; learn something new; play some mentally-stimulating board games; take a walk (exercise is a great way to release endorphins, making you feel happy).

I understand where you are coming from. Sometimes I'm at home but I'm restless because I don't know what to do with myself. I come on the computer but then when I'm online I get bored and decide to put on a movie and then try to watch TV and then come back on he computer lol. Right now I haven't really been feeling that way because I'm so busy with school that I'm thankful for some time just relaxing at home. You don't always have to spend money if you go out though. I'm not sure about where you live but I know that in New York, where I live, there are actually plenty of fun places that you can visit and spend time at without having to spend any money except for maybe transportation [which is $2 (one way) for a metrocard here if you wish to take the train].
