My shirt smelled weird ?

When I took my shirt out of my dresser, it had a funky smell even though I had washed it properly, but did not wear it for about a week and a half, it was in my dresser on the bottom of my other shirts. Why did it smell weird ? how should I do ?

Is your dresser made of wood? I have a wooden dresser that will leave an odor in my clothes and I need to put some newspaper or something to line them. It isn't a dirty smell really, just odd.
There's something in the wood that the cloth is picking up. It has been that way since I bought the dresser new many years ago, it hasn't gone away at all.
Thanks for the reminder, though. I'm off to find some newspaper!
