I am very involved in our community and helping people in need, it is that time of the year for my family to begin gathering toys for the children of demestic abuse relationships. Many of these children are living in homes (which are not thiers). The only problem is that most people are saying that they are tapped. Now I have never asked for "NEW" items just for them to check thier closets since alot of children get toys that they never or hardly use. I ask for them to be in excellent conditon in bozes. I would just like to spread the word to all mylotters that when the holidays come around the feeling of giving is probably the best feeling in the world that one could have. I have raised all my children to always think of ones that are less fortunate than them. One of my favorite sayings is If you have not done something for someone who can not pay you back you have not lived for the day! We have taken families into my home and fed them a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Every week I bring my 8 year old son down to the local food pantry to help and feed the homeless. We collect blankets and winter coats all year round to hand out to the homeless as it begins to get cold. If I could house all these people trust me I would. I have seen moms with thier children living out on the streets and it just breaks my heart. All because she can not afford a home and food because of a relationship gone bad. I know that in todays economy that things are bad for alot of people and trust me there are times that we struggle alot but if I have two pieces of bread and the person next to me is hungry I shall share it with them. What will you be doing this year to help another?
