My friends are leaving on Tuesday morning. We have been in contact for the past ten years and their holiday in my country has come to an end. I feel just sad! I hate goodbyes! Right now I am listening to Coldplay songs. What do you do when you are blue?

When I a blue, I talk to those I love and try to do something to cheer me up like stuff I like doing. I also listen to music that I like it gives my mood a great boost. If they have internet or phone it will make it easier to say goodbye since you could maybe still talk to them and see them if they have web cam or do a video network phone connection. Watching a good comedy or movie that will take your mind off of it will also help for awhile. Good luck.

We recntly had a similar experience, some long term friends emigrated to Perth and we had been out together such a lot,for meals and a drink at the local bar.We initially missed them very much, but the wonder of the internet and Skype has enabled us to keep in touch regularly. If we had to make contact through the landline the telephone bills would have been awesome.Saying Goodbye is the worst part, the rest will all fall into place at some point in the future. As for Coldplay, the latest CD that they have recored is really good,bu there are some very emotive tracks on it,so put something a little cheerier on .

When alone and blue - Nature has a wonderful way of keeping the blues away. The wonders of God's hand are evident on them and that makes me feel I have a great God and there is no reason for me to feel sad.
Do you know that song that goes like: When I'm feeling blue All I have to do Is take a look at you.... Well, it sounds true to me, when I'm feeling blue, all I have to do is take a look at the surroundings and feel the beauty of the surroundings God has provided for me... I also look at my family, my husband, my son, my grandchildren... they are enough to restore the happiness on me. I am basically a person with happy disposition. There are however circumstances that could also make me sad but sadness does not normally dwell long in my heart. I have lots of blessings in my life and I count them always... this the reason why it is so easy for me to overcome all the blues that come along the way.

When I was upset, I like to go to the coffee shop, have a mocha latte, and read for a while. :) I like to take my music with me, a good book, and sit and enjoy the time to myself. If the coffee shop is closed, I will enjoy a little quiet time with my computer, if I need to cheer up.

Sorry to hear that your friends are leaving but hopefully you will all stay in contact with each other. I find it difficult to listen to music when I am blue. I would sooner go out for a walk or make a few telephone calls. Failing that, I would watch a good movie.

Hi Ronaldino, Well Coldplay will bring you down further, I suggest playing something a bit more upbeat. I love Chris Martin but too much Coldpaly when feeling sad not a good combination. It is sad for you that you friends are leaving on Tuesday but think of the fun and happy times you have had with them there rather than dwell on them going. They may be in a different country but you can still be in contact, although not the same, the thoughts and feelings for one another still are eh!. Life is too short to be sad for too long. Ellie :D

Chris Martin is the lead singer of Coldplay, I said I like him but too much of listening to him can get you down, but yes upbeat music would be good. Ellie :D

LOL I am re reading your correction. It shows how much I am into modern groups and music. I do love their music even though I don't know the band members names.

I listen to Christian music and think about all the people in the world who are less fortunate than I am. Before I know it, I'm counting my blessings...

When I am blue like today I usually go off to the gym and work off my frustration and melancholy, I take my Ipod with me so I can listen to my favourite tracks as I train, I love mostly the 80s and if I am feeling blue will play some upbeat songs to beat the blues away. I love the Eurythmics and Annie Lennox, Bryan Ferry and Madonna they are great for making me feeling much better!

When I feel so low, I usually listen to the kind of music that will "activate" me like Linkin Park stuff. Or if the blueness is overwhelming I usually would meditate and clear my mind and sprinkle it with Prayers.
