Saint Vincient DePaul is one of the thrift stores I frequent on paydays. Because I am always able to get something...clothing or house stuff there for practically nothing. It's like an ongoing huge yard sale. But one thing I have noticed is there stuff is a lot better condition than it used to be.
Here's what I got for $20.18 a wool blazer that looks practically new (scored that for $4) and three long sleeved shirts and two really nice sweaters. Honestly I was the happiest about the coat. I have always wanted one like this but never wanted to pay the price tag that accompanies it in the stores. As always I tend to buy classic clothes that can span many different seasons.
Also, one thing I did notice but it did not deter me one bit was their prices raising about a $1 or so. Still even with the slight increase I do know for one thing the money is going to a good cause and they are lower priced than many other thrift stores. And honestly after I heard Joe Boxer is doing a line for the Goodwill (which I stopped going there a long time ago b/c they have been quite high with their prices) and charging anywhere from $15-300 for this line called William Good. I am still out on this one. I am sure it is for a good cause also, but seriously the cost is what gets me. Most people shopping there don't have the cash to spend $15 on a recycled shirt....but that is besides the point.
Anyhow, did anyone else find any sweet bargains this lovely weekend for a yard sale? There were massive yard sales going on in my area (175 mile yard sale) involving four or so counties for three days. People were everywhere. I think it had a better turn out than our National Barbecue Fest.
Happy thrifting.

I would love to see a yard sale that size. Maybe I would not. I really dont need any new clutter around the house. I feel like my little house could use some unjunking. Now if I could find a great deal on food like that. I could really use a great deal on food.

I read about that yard sale, more like a highway long sale, I like thrifting every now and then because retail has to mark it up and malls have a lease to pay so when you find something that probably cost what they are selling it for it gives you a smile to know that capitalism is alive and well. I like buying things for less money and then donating them or selling them back so somebody else can enjoy them too.
