I used to send a good number of greeting to all myloved one's on festivals, on birthdays and anniversiries but now the whole outlook has changed. As everybody now has an email id i would simply choose an appropriate e greeting and would send the same. This is not only free but at the sametime they are more expressive as we can add music and moving characters to these cards. How do you prefer to send your greetings. Also do you think this shift which i feel is there to e cards would actually end up finishing this business for companies like archies.

I prefer to send the paper cards. There is something more substantial about a card that you can hold in your hand. However e-cards are nice for those times we procrastinate and dont have the time or moeny to get a real card in the snail mail. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

You have a point here that it cant be held in ones hand. I used to recieve hand made cards from my hubby and i cherrished them. I have them with me till date.

I like to keep cards too. I have some from my great aunt who was like a grandmother to me. She passed away many years ago, but I can still pull out those cards and seem them written in her own penmanship and somehow it is like she is still here with me.

I now send more ecards than I do the other type. It depends on the person. If I know they are ok with an ecard then I will use that method. It is free many times, and certainly can be spontaneous. I'm not sure the ecards will put the card manufacturers out of business. Hard to believe, but not everyone is hooked up to the internet.

I too have been sending mostly e cards now. As far as manufacturers are concerned it feel they would have to find some other sources to add to their revenues especially as more and more persons become internet literate.

It depends on the situation. If it's someone whose address I don't know, but I know their e-mail, I'll send an e-greeting. If it's someone who does not have e-mail but whose address I know, I'll send a paper card. If it's my relatives or close friends who are on line as well as have addresses that I know, I will send both kinds of cards.

The e cards a a great idea and I often send them to friends. However, for family members, I prefer to send an original paper card as I feel it has a more personal touch. At present I am attending card making classes and I am hoping to make all my own Christmas. Of course, the materials are quite expensive so these will only be for close family members.

i send the e greetings to friends but i send paper cards to my loved ones as it makes a lot of difference in sending the paper card as one can store it for ever while these e greetings they expire after 30 days nearly so one cant open and see them again to cherish the moments..while paper cards they can be.

Close friends and family always get a paper card.
Not so close friends, or people I only have email addresses get ecards.
I like ecards though, less effort, cheaper and you don't have to think in advance to have to post them early enough to get there.
And of course there is the environment to think of!
