Hi mylotter. My four years old daughter just asked me few days ago to buy video games. My husband said that he never want to buy that kind of toys for our children. What do you think about this video games, such as play station or other kind or brand? Will you buy this toy for your kid? Is this toy is an educational toy? Tell me your opinion.

my son had a vsmile, if you want your kids to have a video game and your child is only 4, then a vsmile would be the best for them. if you'd want a game system that everyone could enjoy, i would suggest a Wii over a playstation since Nintendo is big on family experiences, they have a large selection of children games which are educational and also with the Wii the can interact as well. But if you want something just for them, there are various educational videos games for children from both v-tech and leapfrog. they're the leading competitors in that type of market. i love letting my kids play the games, they don't do it much now because i have an old version of the vsmile and it acts up sometimes, not they have a new one with wireless controls and microphones.

Videos games can be educational. It depends on what kinds you buy. Buy I have noticed no matter what brand there is something for everyone. I can say that video games help with eye and hand coornation. It also helps with kids who have what is known as a lazy eye. My daughter eye specialist has her place a patch on her eyes for 4 hours a day. During that time she can barely see. I have her play a video game....gameboy or nitendo DS. It forces my daughter bad eye to work. My daughter eye sight has gone from 20/200 to 2/-80 so it is working.
