From earliest times, men held religious beliefs. Religions arise from the idea that forces more powerful than man control him and universe. Primitive man worshipped objects, such as river and mountains,or the sun or moon. Later peoples, such as the EGYPTTIANS and the GREEKE and ROMANS,believed in a number of gods. Sometimes they made models,or images, of their gods, and sometimes worshipped the images themselves. many religions todayteach that there is only one God.what about jews and christians share?how do you think?what about HINDUS? what about BUDDHISTS? what about ISLAM? -what about LIKE JEWS? what about JUDAISM? can you tell me?

Zhenghong, interesting thoughts. I would like to point out that the Judeo-Christian view of a singular, Creator-God is a "primitive" view, if we are basing the concept of "primitive" on the length of time man has existed. As a Christian, I believe in the biblical Creation account. So, I believe the first "man" believed in one Creator-God. The bible does talk about how many people did begin to worship the creation/creature rather than the Creator, or made idols and called them god. It also speaks of how the Israelites (became known simply as Jews later on) at times turned to idolatry in their history as well. So, yes, different people have worshiped differently throughout history, and religion(s) have evolved to an extent...shaped by certain events and people over time, as well as God's own revelation to and involvement in His creation. As a Christian, I practice "religion" in accordance with the Bible - both Old and New Testaments. Yes, since Christ's first advent "people" have done things in the name of Christianity that were not and are not representative of Christ. And certain "Christian" denominations have evolved over these 2000 years, but true followers of Jesus have not changed the message and principles outlined in the bible and the message of Jesus, Himself.

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all share the same God. The difference is what they believe the message from that God is. Is your question how can one person believe in one God over the countless gods in existance? Because I too find it hard to see how someone can deny every other god (about which they know absolutely nothing) and claim that his or her god is the one true god.
