a teacher who abandoned his students during the earthquake and ran for his own life first has sparked heated debate among public about teachers' responsibility. in my opinion, what are the qualities of a good teacher? should teachers care for their students as their own kids? or should teachers only be responsible for teaching knowledge/ what is the best teacher or worst teacher you have had or seen? i do not htink it is a good thing that there are always somebody suddenly go out to say bad words to teachers we havemany other terrible reasons indeed, but i can only say something like..... . We may have quite different points about this kind of topic. Cause some people do not have correct thinking in mind. wrong choice always all amond us and becoming more populat in this society nowadays. so if some teachers do not have right quality, why not havea good think of that, ask yourself what is on earth is the reason of the whloe nation. that is not only because of the teachers, that is why some of us always take some thing as dream, actually they can not be. sometimes parents are good teachers, but they may stil make mistake teaching theri own children. too bad. anyway we need good teachers, and i wil remember my good teachers in life. a good teacher should be fair, he should not prefer some students over soe other students, and should try to help everyone equally to understand the subject. a teacer also should try to refresh and train his own knowledge in the subject, so that he has no problems to teach it to others the fact is something we seldom tell in public under power unknown in my opinion, no arm, no spirit power in one's mind,

i think a teacher should very generous to their student and as you said, teachers should care for their students as their own child. but, if something happen, like earthquake, i think teacher will rescue their family first than their student. it is a common sense among human being i guess

I think so. So the teacher should not really be blamed under such circumstances. Teachers are not hero. It is justifiable to rescue his life first.

hi qwe a good teacher must love his students and love showing them what he is teaching them, trying out new ideas and involving all his students in his different experiments. Also a good teacher should always have the saftey and welfare of his or her students on his or her mind at all times. In a crisis she does not run off and save her own life, she takes care of her class and gets them to safety. a good teacher inspires her students to want to learn,to love to learn. we always remember our good teachers, men or women.

I think good teachers need to be confident. They need to be consistant. And yes, they need to be caring, but not like they were their own kids. But they need to show an interest in their kids. They also need to plan well. You cannot teach without preperation for classes, or at least not effectively. Fairness is important, and he should work with students on their strengths and weaknesses and realize these are not the same for everyone. Some teachers forget this and this will cause students to fail.

I believe that it is human instinct to run away for his own life, asking someone to stay there and die with his students are just heroism... But he should ask his student to go away, then run for his life. That would help his student to escape in time. I have been out of topic...but I would believe that a good teacher inspire his students and induce their self-learning motivation. No one could know everything on earth - (or should I say the universe?) and no one could be always correct, but by making use of the technology - like Internet, we could get a lot of knowledge about which not many people would know. And I think a good teacher could help his students to produce knowledge, through discussion or investigation, too.

A teacher should have many qualities. One of the most important are respect, dignity, empathy and a happy joyful personality. Nobody likes a strict teacher. A good teacher should always let a child go to the toilet or get a drink when needed. A teacher should put the students life before his or hers. It's part of her job and responsibility.

when hiroshima and nagasaki were bombed in 1945, caesar hirohito, the then emperor of japan, ask his general about how many people still surviving. and the first one he inquired about is not farmers or shoulders or labors , but teachers. it implies that the teachers are very important. they play important role in the development of society. so, nobody are to despise or undervalue teachers. in contrary, teachers themselves should be qualified. well, here are what i think about a good teacher: 1. a teacher has to be well learned and knowledgeable. 2. a teacher has to know exactly how to teach. 3. so, he has to well know what to teach and how to teach. 4. an example is worth more than one thousand words. so a teacher should do what he teaches. if he teaches the students not to steal, he himself must not steal. if he teaches the students not to lie, he himself must not lie, etc. 5. he has to well knows his students. he has to understand that every student is different, and also their intelligence, capacity to learn and psychological situation is also different with each other. a teacher must understand that and teaches them accordingly.

I remember when I was in school during my college days. We are always asked to differentiate a good teacher and an effective teacher. In my part, a good teacher is someone who shows true care and love for his students. It doesn't matter if the teacher is intelligent but at least has a mastery on his subject matter. Society nowadays blame teachers for having unproductive, unintelligent youth but we must analyze the situation deeper. It is trusted in the constitution that education must be given priority but they forgot to give priority to teachers. While others say that teaching is a noble profession, I think this is the poorest profession because teachers are not given proper compensation and is being burdened with additional work that is not really in their line of duty like serving for election, doing volunteer work in times of crisis and they even have lots of paper jobs to do. I pity those teachers who were not able to marry because they devoted their whole life teaching but never really given proper recognition. They were even corrupted of their monetary rights by those abusive officials. I think it is high time to have a second look on the system of our education and recognize those teachers that really care about the students. With many capable teachers going abroad, we don't want our country to be left with those "not-so-good" teachers. We must act now before it is too late.

A best teacher is one who makes his students learning and who loves them and teaches them very well without being partial, who punishes the student for their mischiefs and improves them and works hard to make their students capable of overcoming anu critical situation and , a good teacher should be intelligent, clever , loving, freindly, strict and capable of solving the problems of his students.

I think a good teacher is one who can really connect with his/her students. They can make the students feel like if ever they needed to talk they could run to their teacher. I think once they have connected on this level it makes the teaching part of the job 20x easier.
