Microsoft is the cause of my second divorce

I am a computer geek. I maintain a network for a medium size company. We moved the server room this weekend to its new home, the company is growing despite the current economical issues facing the country. My husband, whom I love so dearly, offered to come in and help with the server room move on Friday night. We shut down the network on schedule at 6:00 pm and started moving the servers. Once we were done with the move we started booting the servers up, this up around 10:30 pm. When it came time to boot up my Exchange server, the server failed. Catostropic hardware failures (yes multiple ones). I told my husband that he should just go home and I would call when I had everything back up but he insisted on stay. 8 hour later the server was still down and my wonderful husband was sleeping in a chair in my office paciently waiting for me to finish my work. Around 8:00am Saturday (yes I stayed all night, worked a total of 25 hours on Friday), my husband walked in the server room and told me I had better be careful or Microsoft was going to cause my second divorce. Laughing and smiling the whole time. LOL I did manage to recover everything and the network is back up, but I thought it was funny as heck that Microsoft was going to cause my next divorce. My husband by the way planned a surprise for me for Friday night to celebrate the success of moving the server room. Needless to say, Microsoft killed the surprise.

I imagine you had thoughts of divorce while you slaved away. I got divorced, and I'm not kidding, over television sets. My husband had at least one of the four blaring all the time. I bought headphones to block out the noise. When we divorced, he refused to give me one of the tv's. We didn't get divorced because of the tv, its a side issue that reminded me of your situation. You must be a whiz at fixing computers, not to mention dedicated and determined. travel lightly, anawar

It is funny the things that cause the end of a marriage. I felt terrible about him being stuck in the office with me. He could have left, I would not have held it against him, everyone needs sleep.

Your husband sounds like a keeper. He chose to stay with you, even after you told him to go to sleep. Not all men love the way your husband loves you.

Lol. Bytemi I really respect your dedication for the work . But but can you please tell me why you neglected the feeling of your sweet heart. If I were in your husband's shoes I might have reacted the same way. Please respect the human feelings. Console him and enjoy the life.

I told him he could go home but I had to stay. He made th choice to stay and keep me company and I love him for that. He was not serious about the divorce and he wasn't upset, it is all part of the job. He knows that.

I bet alot of folks married to IT people feel that way. When I was married to my ex and he was working with servers, if there was something major we had planned, there would be a crash. It is almost like Microsoft know how to ruin your life.

Stability and Microsoft do not work together. You can have one or the other but not both. That is why when anyone asks, I tell them that Microsoft is the root of all evil

Lol. Bytemi I really respect and dedication on your work. But can you please tell me why don't you respect the feeling of your husband. I were in your husband's shoes I might be reacting the same way. Apart from work we must understand the human feeling, how patiently he waited for you. But might have seen the frustration when he shouted at you.

He did not shout, he was making a joke to get me to laugh. I did consider his feelings that is why I told him he should go home and get some sleep.

What an engaging story. You're lucky to have a husband who helps you with your work even if he just slept on a chair while you worked. Lol. He stayed with you and that's the main thing. Cheers!!
