i used to take pride in my handwriting. even at an early age, my mom used to joke that i write like a teacher, meaning that i write quite legibly. but nowadays, i type more than i write, so i guess my hands got a bit rusty, and now i find that i cannot read my own handwriting sometimes . i remembered one humiliating episode in my writing class way back, when we were learning how to write the letter K. when i was finished with my work, the teacher graded it with an NI, meaning Needs Improvement. imagine my horror, when i received that grade, considering that my name starts with a letter K (Karina), so i redid (is that a word? redid?) it, and thankfully, the second time i got it right. hee hee. so now i ask you, is your own handwriting readable? or do you write like a doctor?

I take pride in my handwriting. But I found that my handwriting is deteriorating since I type more than I write nowadays. All our assignments has to be typed through a computer. No handwritings could be submitted.

well my handwriting is readable and nice to look at during my school days, my teacher in fact caught me for the home work done and she thought that some one had written the home work on my behalf and she also hit me even after so many things when i continued to say that i myself had done the home work she made me write it once more and then realized that the handwriting was mine and not someone elderly because i was just in 2nd standard at that time you can now imagine what a nice handwriting is mine

well, why didn't your teacher thought of making you write in front of her in the first place so there would be no need to hit you?? i feel sorry for students who have Cruella De Vils for teachers, really. but i guess, as you said, it just goes to show how great your handwriting is

I guess my handwriting is pretty readable. I've got so much to tell you about it too, hehee. I had a pretty good handwriting when I was little, and it's still good. But at second grade my handwriting was slanting a little, and my teacher went 'hey, your writing is much more messy and crappy now'. Of course that made my a little hurt. After that I tried to give my handwriting a little more readable style, and she didn't comment it anymore. My parents and my friends enjoy my handwriting pretty much. A couple of friends have even asked me to trade my handwriting with theirs, so I'd assume mine is pretty good. And when we get group writings at school, the ones in my group often asks me to write down notes and what they say. Because I write pretty fast, and as mentioned pretty readable. My English teacher even gave me this, hrm, 'theory'. I'm half Chinese, so I write Chinese sometimes (when I've got homeworks). And my English teacher have had several pupils with parents from China. And she told me that she has noticed that a lot of Chinese boys in average writes more readable than the other guys (Swedish boys in this case). And she asked me if it was the fact that we wrote Chinese letters. :) The end of my very long post. And to you who read the whole, thumbs up!

that says a lot about how a good handwriting can get you up in some sort of "writing pedestal". nowadays, the person i envy most is my husband, since he writes way more beautifully than i do, having the chance to practice it more. and keep up with your long posts! you'll earn more that way

I wud not say my handwriting is bad,but shud admit it's not really good :D Tried improving it initially, got irritated and it ended up worser. But I am happy bcos it's unique to me :) There's a belief that if ppl have bad handwriting their fate will turn out to be really good. Don't know how far it's true. If that's d case,I prefer not to improve mine :P Take care!!

well, we have the same experience. the first thing that attracted me to my husband is how well he writes. if you didn't know that he wrote it, you would have mistaken it for a girl's handwriting. hey, what do you know, maybe you will be married to your girlfriend too because she fell in love with your handwriting

My writing is just about legible, but it is far from neat. I am a lefty and this seems to give me a really lame style I used to always smudge the paper when I had a ink pen in school

you know what, i have always had this secret wish to be a lefty, as it was believed that lefties are better at math than right handed people. i suck at math big time, so i figured, if i was a lefty, i would be good at that subject too i even practiced writing with my left hand for a while, but gave up after the depressing results oh, well. i guess i'd be forever math-stupid .

Oh yes! It is very much legible when I write leisurely or at a medium speed. But when I take notes, which we used to do normally in our college my hand writing used to be horribly ! My hand writing could be followed by only one person and that was me! And like you say some times I myself used to get trapped at some words. But then it was our helplessness and under duress we had to write in such fashion as we never wanted to miss a sinle word by our professers or lecturers. We used to take rough notes which in the evening we used to make a fair one for our future reference for our examination.Possibly because of lot of writing we used to get bored and we hardly used to pay any attention to our writing! Our motto used to be to get as much matter as possible from a lecture! During our times there were no ready made guides or ready to use exam tools! We were either dependent on the lecture or on the books available in College library and getting abook from College Library was always a speculation so we used to rely more on class notes! Thanks! This was one of the most interesting topic today I have answered !

thanks for the compliment! i was like you in college, too. that was why i had the shock of my life when i first got into college. what do you mean no written lectures on the board? i was horrified! i even thought of buying a recorder to record my professor's lectures but ended up taking down notes instead as i found my professors' voice too irritating to listen to over and over again . when i get home, i organize my notes. this is the main reason why my notes get borrowed a lot back in college. few of us ever bother to organize our messy notes, right?

I write like a teacher. Since I am rather busy I do write shortcuts that only I can understand. Sometimes my handwriting is not that legible.

For years, my friends have usually commented that I have very neat and legible handwriting. When I was in my childhood days, the PC wasn't born yet, so we resort to writing a lot. That's probably when my neat handwriting was developed. I also used to write and exchange letters with several people, including a pen-friend. I only started using a computer when I was in my 20's. Even then, I still continue to write to some extent. But in recent years, I've noticed that my handwriting is getting worse. It is not as beautiful as before, although it is still neat somewhat and legible. My fingers feel more strained when I try and write too much. I am not sure if it is because I have been used to years of typing with my fingers on the keyboard, but at least currently I can still write reasonably. Many kids today have handwriting that is definitely worse than mine.

you can say that again. my kid sister who is quite used to typing instead of writing manually on paper has a handwriting that is really hard to decipher. i think not writing constantly makes our handwriting look worse than it was when we were still handwriting a lot. you're lucky that your handwriting is still readable. i have a handwriting that even I can barely read.

My handwriting is readable when I write in print. When it comes to cursive, it is still readable by me. I write like a doctor when it comes to writing cursive. I write fast that my handwriting in cursive is unreadable and became like doctors writing a patient medicine to take, though whn I take time to write my cursive readable but far being neat.

First off,,hi there! My story is the reverse of yours. When I was still in my elementary years, I could still remember how horrible my handwriting was. I could hardly read them. But,when I reached my secondary and tertiary years. I said "Wow!" I just couldn't believe my handwriting turns into a fine and nice one. I believe it was because during my highschool years We have had a drawing subject and for us to be able to pass that subject You need to have a very fine handwritings so I believe with that experience my handwriting was enhanced. But, when I graduated from college and immediately landed a job wherein less writing and more typing, I've noticed my handwriting is slowly turning back to the original one.hhuhuhu.. so, I guess I should do more writing.hehe

People that write like doctors are extremely clever. The reason why they write illegible to the ordinary person is because they try to write as fast as they think. I was so glad for the computer, because now you can at least read what I write. At university we were forced to create our own shorthand and it followed us into the real world. The following is for interest sake only. Poelpe taht wirte lkie dctoors are exrteemly celver. Could you read this sentence?

of course. a text message got circulated late last year that has almost the same style as your last two sentences. i think the brain is programmed automatically to read words correctly even though only the first and the last letters are in the right place and the rest of the letters in between are jumbled. but that's beside the point, right? anyways, yeah. a professor told me that the faster you are able to think, the worse your handwriting will be, as your hand tends to keep up with the speed of your thoughts. great response. deserves a best response.

My handwriting looks good i really remember how many times i got hurt in my knuckles when i was child from my mom she just taps me on it and i get badly hurt , these happend when i was 2.5 years , i started writing at an earlier age , my handwriting was seriously good but when i was in 11th grade there was a guy who writes even more legible than i do but his handwriting was very tiny , obviously i hated his handwriting lol , he was my competitor , but he became my good friend , but i knew him i just go and tell him his handwriting was very worse lol.. and now in my class my handwriting is good since i had some health problem where my hand shivers which leads to shaky handwriting.. but still it is legible not bad, but cant be considered too good as like had it few years back..

Good day! Awww.... I really don't know.. Sometimes my handwriting is readable and pleasing to the eyes but there are times that other people can't read my own handwriting even me at times. I really admire those people who have nice penmanship because it is really neat. That is why I prefer to type than write. I remember once, I was filling up a form for my assessment and I have to REPEAT it because they told me that it is very small and not readable... awww... lolz. Happy Mylotting!

I think my handwriting is worse than a doctors. My writing is so scribbled that sometimes I have a hard time reading what I wrote. I am so used to being on the computer and typing, that when it comes to writing, I am bad.

Thanks to my mother, I have a very nice handwriting. She taught me to write and has a beautiful way of doing this. Both of my parents read to us kids and instilled the joy of reading and writing in all 7 of us kids. Teach a child to read and write, right! You will then open the doors to the whole world for them.

I think so. But since you started with reminiscing hand writing experience, well when they taught us to write long hand letters, I really find it hard to write the letter S,until now I can still vividly imagine that episode in my life (drama!) yes I went home and figure out how I can write the long hand S in the most readable I can, I remember sitting near the window of our nipa hut and started doodling the long hand S. I still can imagine the paper and the S I did. but now, I only write short hand, it is easier for me and readable for others too. I am no doctor

i there kaye, my hand writing isnt the best, i have to admit. The problem with me is my writing doesnt have any style, it doesnt follow a letter mattern and so on. I wrte ver, very fast so i never have to time to concentrate on my style so i never seem to put any effort. But when i try to write slow, my hand writing is perfectly fine, and its very good but i cant keep it up because what i could have writen in a minute now taes 3 minutes which is a big diffrence since i am writing at school all the time and we dont have too long to finish our tasks within class. Happy Mylotting!
