alcoholic drinks allergic?

whenever there is an occasion and supposed that there is a drinking session, i happened to not drink anything at all, be it alcoholic drinks or anything containing the latter, the reason behind this?! i happened to have blisters and itching all over my body..some said that it might be that i am allergic to it, anyone have experienced this? is it really allergic? why does this happens?! any clarifications fellow mylotters would be highly appreciated..thanks!:)
