What is the difference in ideology between being a Republican or a Democrat and why does it mater what state you are in which one you are? I hear a lot of talk on tv about how certain states are taditionally one or the other and that they are more amenable to certain campaigns when they stop through because of their political party affiliation. Wasn't it Herbert Hoover who said that "There's not a dimes worth of difference between beig a republican or a democrat.

There is subtle differences between the ideologies of the seperate parties. We also have Independants, Green Party, and a couple of other catchall political parties.
