how low will you set your heat thermostat this winter??
I am thinking that I will try ours on 68 and see how that does , we have natural gas heat and our house is pretty new and is pretty airtight. I do not want to freeze though. Last year I did a ton of baking and that kept the house warm and kept the heat from kicking on all of the time.

ours is set at 68 or 70 and if we are cold, we just wear sweaters (which i do all winter!) if we are sitting by the tv, we throw on a blanket. baking is also a great way to stay and keep warm because it will warm up the house too. another way to keep the house warm is to make sure that all the windows are lined so that no drafts can come in.

In this house it varies from room to room. We have electric heat. The heat in the bedrooms is turned down to around 65 most of the time and I turn it up if it feels too chilly. The rest of the house is generally on about 68-70 except the bathrooms which are turned down to 55 unless someone is bathing or showering.

We keep our house at 67 to 68 depending on how it feels. If it is over night we keep it low and try to use blankets to keep us warm. If I can I do may baking and run loads of dishes durring the day when we need more heat to feel comfortable. I wish I had some more ideas to help stay warm though.

Ours is set at 72 all winter long. I am home all day and I run a daycare so I like to keep it warm for the kids ( and me too). Sometimes in the evening we will turn on the fireplace and then the furnace doesn't kick on because the fireplace makes the house nice and toasty.
