Design your own pet

Ok you've seen all the discussions, what's your favorite pet, do you like cats or dogs better, etc. Now here's your chance to design your own pet. Maybe you'd like an animal that's litter box trained like a cat but obeys like a dog. Or one that is small and cute like a rabbit, but lives a lot longer. If you could take all the animals that people have as pets (and some that aren't commonly seen as pets) and pull out the most desirable characteristics and design your own pet what would you come up with?

My idea of a perfect pet has already been designed. It is a cat. I have 4 here and each is designed perfectly. The purrs are right; the tails are correct; the whiskers -- ah, just the thing. No other animal is quite as fine. This is of course my own personal opinion.
