Hey everyone, I'm going to make pork chops tonight and I'm looking for some new ideas of how to cook them. I usually put them in the crock pot with barbeque sauce or I'll just shake and bake them in the oven. Since it's too late for the crock pot I'll need a recipe for baking them in the oven. Any yummy ideas?

I usually BBQ my pork chops or I bread them. You dip them in egg, then in bread crumbs, then cook them on the stove in oil until they're crispy & done on the inside. They taste great... hubby loves em!

Sounds good. I've never cooked them in the frying pan on the stove. How long does it usually take them to cook?

Have you ever pan-fried them and then made milk gravy with the drippings? I love that!! We use the gravy for either mashed potatoes or rice. You can also add a can of cream of mushroom soup for extra flavor in the gravy after first browning them. That's the fastest thing I can think of right now. I've never done pork chops in the oven before, myself.

No, I've never cooked them in the frying pan. I think I'm going to do them that way tonight though. Thanks for your input.

Put them in a baking pan, pour a jar of salsa over them. Bake until done, then serve with rice. I love them that way!

Make sure you season them before cooking. That helps add flavor to the gravy, too. Enjoy!!

We make smothered pork chops, I take and slice some onions, bellpeppers, garlic, and I brown the chops in a little oil, with the onions and bell peppers and garlic, throw in some parsley, when the chops are brown on both sides I add enough water just to cover and cook then down till they are tender.Make sure the water stays about the same. I then add a big spoonful of flour, to thicken and a bit of kitchen bouquet for browning, it gives it a brown gravy look. When the gravy is thick I turn it off. We serve it over rice but you can have mashed potatoes or what ever you like.

After all the anxiety over how to cook them we wound up having fish sticks instead. We'll have the pork chops tomorrow. I used to make them in the oven with cream of mushroom soup but then everyone got tired of them. Maybe it's time to bring it back.
