The footsteps that was heard in the attic in our house....

There are so many things in this world that is hard to explain. That is what they call paranormal about many things that cannot be explain by mere words alone. If you happen to see and hear some things that no ordinary people can feel then you must have third eye and that would be scary. I hope you will learn how to use your gift someday.

I had this happen in a house, well a few of them. I went into the attic and no one was there. When being down stairs we could hear the foot steps and the toy box being opened,(the hinges creaking open) and then the toys being poured out onto the floor, or the old peddle sewing machine just going to town. My mother-in-law and I were there on several occasions when these things happened,we went up stairs to check it out and no one was there, in fact none of the toys were spilled out on the floor. Which dumbfounded us, because we just heard them being poured out, not only that the children laughing and playing. They had no time to put things away before we got there. The sewing machine had stopped too, no mystery there. You can stop them quickly. The ting is no one was there, not one person. No toys were in the floor. It was as we had left it the few days before when we were up there. I lived in several homes that had activity and I live in one now. Cream if you had went into your attic you probably would not have seen anything either. A spirit will not hurt you they just mess with things and make sounds. A ghost will sometimes harm you. Never ask one what they want unless you are prepared to find out and you know how to get rid of them once you "invite" them in. By asking them what they want they consider that an invite. All bets are off and they do what they want to. They can be nice, but they can also be nasty. You are not imagining anything, someone was there. since he or she did not hurt you they were a benevalent spirit and can be left alone, unless you want to help them cross over into the light. That is a different story.

I have a friend who is convinced her father walks around their old house as he had only a little use in one leg and just somtimes in their house where they still live they this distinctive walking sound with the same unusual clunk just like her late father...I think it could very well be someone there looking after you...

we used to live in a house in the country and the upstairs was carpeted but we would hear boots footsteps going around up there and the door would open all of the time. It was scary.

Oooo, creepy. I guess you have a little ghostly friend, try to make contact and then tell us the rest of the story.

My family owns a tiny island in a small river in N. california. It's said that hundreds of years before, a Native American who had lived there his whole life saw that his home was being given over to some Anglos (not my ancestors - I don't think - but a Chinese investment company (who were around even in 1820). The old man (or, in a story my grandmother insists is the true version, an old woman who mysteriously became pregnant then just as suddenly miscarried, only to be told she hallucinated the whole thing, walked out to the bridge between the mainland levee and the island and hung herself) hung himself. Double-anti-climax. Anyway, I once heard a sweeping wing as I went walking one night at least fifteen years ago (I'm 29 now), probably more... The wind rose and then dipped around me, then settled. The island is still only half-tame, I thought. My uncle used to talk of seeing orange lights bob up and down in the river then rise up, the water glimmering as it fell, the light moving smoothly up, up, up and gone. A screaming whine started from somewhere west of me. It sounded like a loon at first. I knew there were half-deserted private beaches out here, running along the back edges of a few properties... and some are long-abandoned. An owl swooped overhead. I saw it coming, looking like a bright light flashing on a pale, surprised face. Then the screeeeeaaaaammmmm..... from all sides, as a terrible wind swirled up all around me, a tornado of howls and moans and heart-broken sobs. I saw the time I slapped my third-youngest sister too hard and she bit me, i smacked her again... my cousin and i playing a little "doctor" when we were eleven and didn't know what we were doing... shoplifting and getting caught at age 21... the shame of all the times I've been a drunken fool... ...it all comes crashing down and UPPPP and then it's gone. I looked around. My eyeballs throbbed. A nearby trailer (they're portable houses, low, comfy, suburban rectangles that can be hauled from park to park) which had been my grandfather's once upon a time had dark windows but a low, high-pitched commotion of hushed voices on the porch. I calmly, haltingly crept over."My turn!" A low voice, a kid's voice. "No! I told you about it!" Younger, insistent. Urgent and brash. "Stop!" The oldest. Slightly baritone. It carried well. Everyone always said so. I looked on the porch. Three boys were huddled around an old, arcade-style Donkey Kong game. I recognized them... how could I not? They were my younger brother and cousin and myself. The second I took a step, they looked at me and were gone. They didn't vanish slowly or dissolve into a thin, somehow chunky wisp of smoke like in most movies. They were just gone. Like the way Christopher Nolan edits his movies with unexpected, jolting, abrupt cuts. They were just gone. Not there anymore. I think we got it. Thought I'd share.

You see, this entire universe is confined to one and only God! Every thing that we see and perceive is the expression of God, God & only God. Your suspected spirit in the discussion is also a part of God! So I think, you just light a new candle / tradiional lamp used for prayer before God and pray to God with heart felt sympathy for the salvation of that spirit. This must solve the problem well by the grace of God! Thanks and hopes for solutions!

[i]Hi cream, I understand how you feel since I also experienced that..I also remember one time when my roommate left her book in our living room and at 12 midnight decided to take a nap after studying, she woke up because someone was scanning her book in the living room and she is sure that she was the last person there since we were only 6 and everyone was in their room already, so, she checked their slowly and saw no one except the book! LOL![/i]

That is indeed very scarry. I can just imagine how freaked out you must have been about this. As for what it is I honestly can't tell you. I don't rule anything out though.

Well, it might be that you are thinking too much of ghost because the Halloween is coming Seriously, I think there is big rat on your attic. Sometimes the movement of a rat seems like footsteps specially if they are fighting in there. Maybe there are several of them up. The attic is the perfect place to stay for rats. The more if there are lots of stuff there and it is not cleaned up. Just don't be afraid. The best thing for you to do is check your attic and be sure that you have someone with you when you do that.. so that you will not be sacred of what you will find.

Hi cream97, You are very open, and you will see things but don't be afraid, just ask them what they want and also but those spirits that living in the attic, well should have told them to be quiet, after all they live there. Hugs Tamara

I had a cousin that was stalked by a ghost, and when the other occupants of the building told her who they thought the ghost was, she realized that the ghost had the same last name as she had. She had a conversation with the ghost the next time she encounter her and told her, her name and that they might be related and she said she didn't have anymore problems with the ghost. Me on the other hand would have gotten the heck out of that place. I hope you can get this situation settled with the spirit in the attic.
