What do you do if you're bored at work?

Have you ever wonder the same as I do? When you get bored at work what do you usually do? As far as time at work is concern; it's really routinary and boring. If i work and i'm not in the mood i feel more stressed and burn-out! What i do is i go for coffee breaks almost every 30 minutes (hehehe)...i go long breaks in the afternoon and most of the time I go to internet do browsin! What about you?

I am just relatively new to this company. I started working 2 weeks ago and I am not really doing anything that will really keeps me busy since I am not trained yet to handle their system as we are waiting for other trainees so either, I will check my company e-mails and delete all of them (since I don't know the essence of the mails hehe), log into my MSN messenger and chat with my friends while monitoring some server, uhmm.... listen to my favorite music on my phone for an hour or two then I will do the other task I need to do..t hen after that, I will surf the Internet and definitely visit mylot until my shifts ends.... haha, sounds like you're not working...hehehe. i understand i was like that when i was new to my company as well. Are you in the IT position. That's a cool job! especially you can mess up with the internet without other people knowing or monitoring you.

Nope, I am not in the IT position though with technical position account. hehehe.. our MIS can't restrict our site since we need it for research hehehe!

I go and talk to other people. We have a lot of interesting people at work so someone always has a good story or some decent news to tell me. It might not always be the same person but I have a lot of people to pick from and more often then not they are willing to talk and spread some news. It always helps the day go by faster when we can get some good discussions going. They aren't always a waste of time either, often we have good discussions about ideas for the job and that is helpful as well.

then again, only the cool people can do what you do! hehehe...some loner types just can't talk so good, I think :-)

Oh my gosh! Where do you people work that you have time on your hands??????? I've worked in many, many offices over a 20 year period and there was certainly NEVER time to get bored! It seemed that they expected a staff of 2 or 3 to do the work of 6 or7. We were always pressed for time, many times eating lunch at our desks.

guess we got lucky with our companies *wink! for young workers like me, we only have few works coz maybe of the few experiencees and the trust our bosses grants our head... it also depends on your workload but no matter how busy or lousy you are in the office - you'd feel bored... you're not a robot that always feel fine..and even robots get malfunctioned sometimes.. happy mylotting

My job is incredibly slow and useless in my eyes. I pretty much sit at the front desk and watch a lot of tv, since I can't leave the front of the store no matter how empty it is. I also write stories online and text all day. Coffee breaks are good. And since the place I work at has laundry to be done I secretly bring my laundry from home and do that on office hours =P
