Why Am I Having To Pay To Upgrade My HOME ALARM Because Of TV?

my security alarm company is telling me because i have cell back up (a feature i paid 500 dollars for to add on to where if my phone line is cut and electricity out it will still call out and signal etc to get help) i have to pay 100 bucks by feb 2009 because everything is going to digital tv wise..
um i have A FREAKING HOME ALARM WITH CELL BACKUP!! where in there does tv get involved??
im really confused here.. help

Hmm...maybe the back up runs on cable lines OR they had to upgrade their signal because the digital signal messes up whatever system they have in place.
BTW recent studies are saying that the digital signal thing may no thappen because it would leave too many folks with no TV.

well it (or at least they never showed or told us) doesnt go through the cable as far as i know.. the cell back up is just like a cell phone so i dont see that.. i thought it might be because i had my phone line through my cable company but they said it wasnt that.. i think their idiots and just want more money!! and it would be messed up if they decide to not go digital now that who knows how many people have ran out and gotten tvs and converters etc.. although i think to have gone digital was a stupid idea anyways lol.. ill hold out till feb to pay for the upgrade just in case lol

It's too late now, as things have already happened in the TV department, but are they freaking serious? That's unbelieveable!! It's freaking amazing what idiots in companies will do to squeeze more money out of the public. It's legalized robbery, that's what it is. GEEZ!!!

i had forgotten all about this! whats funny is they never charged me it! in fact they dont believe that we even have the cell back up when they switched companies lol.. i need to actually call them and remind them of that so that it does work
