This presidential campaign is getting really dirty. Palin called Obama a terrorist. McCain won't address him by his first name.

While I've not seen it, I'm sure that Obama has been shooting his own mud. (I don't watch TV very much, but I caught the McCain campaign flinging the dirty stuff.

Personally, I voted for someone other than these two.

You've been hearing things completely wrong. Nobody called Obama a terrorist. Sarah Palin said he's been "palling around with terrorists" referring to his association with Ayers, the domestic terrorist who bombed the pentagon, capitol building, and a police station.
McCain calls him Senator Obama which is a perfectly respectful way of speaking with someone. In some ways, it's actually disrespectful for Obama to simply call him John. I don't think either intends disrespect though. If you'll watch the VP debates you'll notice that Biden and Palin referred to each other by their titles Governor Palin, and Senator Biden. I believe she may have said Joe once in a friendly way, but I don't believe he ever called her Sarah.
Don't get me wrong, they are both slinging plenty of mud. I just want to make sure you're getting the right mud.

Still, letting your supporters on camera call the opposition 'Terrorist Lover' is pretty darned bad.

Perhaps mudslinging hits us in the instinctive part of the psych.

Many Americans don't want to think too much. I do think, and end up depressed quite often, as neither candidate shows me that he (or she) is up to the task ahead.

I agree. I think they should only be "allowed" to talk about themselves and what they have done and will do. I understand they want to point out hte other guys weaknesses or why they are better compared to the other, but all it does is turn in to mud slinging. IF they only talk about themselves, and let the media dredge up the crap - we can choose who we want to be president based on what they have or have not done. But then again. how do we know if what they say is true? WHos going to sit and reasearch it all? No one. Kind of like a vicious circle. YOu just gotta do your own homework and research and makeyour own decision - best you can.

I agree, and therefore, deprived both parties of my vote. I voted for neither, and went for a third candidate. Will he win? Doubt it, but I chose to send a message.
