LOAN outside the country: Is it possible?

I came from a site which concept is helping each other financially. And since i was looking for a fast loan with low interest a lot of people there referred different loan agencies to me mostly from africa. So because of curiousity i tried to contact one of those agencies and they sent me an application. They even called me up and after three days, they told me that the loan amount i applied was approved. So i did email them back and they called me on my cellphone and asking me for a little amount to pay before they send me my check thru western union. Im in need of money but i didnt beleive them. But it sounds good to be true. What do u think about it?
