i was able to read harry potter series right before it's corresponding movie would come out and i was able to conclude that there are so many parts deleted in the movie. if you're really not reading the book beforehand you would really be just enjoying the magical effects and not it's story per se. furthermore, characters are increasing their ages in the book in one year time and the corresponding movie would be released in a couple of year or more. daniel's face would not be getting any younger, how would you feel if he would replaced in the succeeding movies becuase his appearance would not suit his age in the book... just a comment... im open for any reactions

I feel like the book has everything. Your imagination could reach different heights by reading the books. It will always disappoint one if he expects that all aspect in the books will be reflected in movie. But, if you're the type who could appreciate a commercial value of a movie, then all of the harry potter movies are ok. Well, I am a bit uncomfortable with the book 3 because I feel like it's lacking in so many ways, but, I enjoyed all of them in general.

It is interesting how there are favorites etc, on the books in the series, for me I don't think I have a favorite one, I think it is something that really is taken a whole. Interestingly enough the one that is your least favorite is the favorite of Emma Watson, and Daniel Radcliffe. lol just useless trivia.

I always dissapointed with the movie. But it's not related to the age of the character. It's because they just so much different with the books. You know there're great make up artist to handle this age problem. So it wont be a big problem.

I hadn't read the books until this year, so I disagree that you are not getting a story by just seeing the movies but there are various nuances that are missing, that couldn't really be done in the movie format, maybe a mini series format but not in a single movie. Each of the books are for different age, and yes in the movie they are only aging one year for every movie, but here is the thing actors have been playing younger and older than themselves for a long time, they reached the point where the characters are to be in a range from 16 to nearly 18, depending on their character birthdays, but they will be 16 and 18, how often are "teens" played by someone who is 18 to 24 or so, due to the youthful appearance of the actor playing the part, etc, I have no doubt that a change in actors would spoil the continuity more than the very slight look difference in regards to looks for age. In fact when I was 13 and graduating middle school for high school this person walked past and my mom said "what class does she teach" I said mom she is in my class, the girl was 13 going on 14, so not everyone looks their age. I played the games on playstation and to be honest there were things in the game that while good didn't fit with what I knew of the story, I read the books and said OK now I get it. There were details in the book that were great, well worth reading, but there are many who just don't enjoy reading, and the movies were good on their own. However I am thrilled to have read the books and also not because well to be honest there were twists to the story I wish didn't happen, and I want to see how the story develops in the movies. and now that I know the plot of the books, I do think that some things are missing in the movies, but I am glad that I saw the first five films with out reading the books first and I am glad to now have read all seven books I have gone back to watch the movies since reading the books and noticed little things so on that you are rightthey do have deeper meaning having read the books. In the case of Daniel Radcliff I saw him do something in another movie, he still looked like himself yet different enough to pull off the character her portrayed. If you look at the actors as they appear in interviews etc you can see that performance, expression, costume and make up do make a difference Something else to think about the Half Blood Prince is in post production so it was filmed already, so the age to grown up look is likely not as pronounced, and when it comes to the Deathly Hallows, Parts I and II [rumor is they are making it two movies] well they were older, more mature, the story put them as going on 17, at the end of Half Blood Prince, so the 17/18 age would expect some maturity especially with their life experiences

I agree with you in the deleting some part in the movies. I read some of the books and for me I like the book better than the movie. When I watched the movies I feel like it’s totally different from what I read and the ones I’m watching. Maybe the director must take extra cautions on which part they would delete, sometimes the part they didn’t do is the important part they should have in the movie. It’s true that in the movies, the special effects and the characters playing the roles are the things that you can enjoy. For me reading the book and imagining what I read is much more magical and beautiful than how they made it in the movie. Personally, I don’t like the movie of Prisoner of Azkaban as I don’t see any thing other than blackness.
