Do you totally love being in a spotlight? Are you comfortable with compliments?

I wonder how many of us here wants to be famous, or always being greeted, or being complimented? Do you want others to be fond of you? Are you comfortable hearing others say nice things about you? How do you react?
For others who do not enjoy being complimented or being on the spotlight, why? Has it anything to do with your upbring as a child? Or you never got compliments from your parents, ever?
Your thoughts, please.

not really but a little bit and i must say that all like to be appreciated and i don't like flattering and i only accept applause for my work or other than that if someone compliments me for some silly thing than i will be more aware of that person.
i am never shy to appreciate others or to accept it from them as it motivates me it will motivate them too and make life easier for all. compliments from the parents show that they value you and are proud of their child and it is the best feeling when they proudly hug you and say that's my boy.

I agree. If I believe that I was complimented for the good work I did then I will be totally flattered. But if that person says silly things like things that aren't really true (at least for me) then I would be more cautious. It's just that maybe those people who always flatter you for no apparent reason just want something from you.
