I have some issues right now about a certain someone or two. I will explain once I give the definition. I looked up both Munchauesen's and Hypochondria and here's what I got. The first one is where, for instance, a mother creates problems for a child in order for them to do invasive procedures, so she can gain the sympathy of others. (this doesn't happen in every case but this is an example.) The other is one is where the person affected has made themself believe that they really have the disease (whatever it might be.) I had an aunt that was a hypochondriac until one day my dad told me to go to her house and take care of her. He made up a word called "epizutics" and told me to repeat it and act as if I was in pain while talking about it. Sure enough, a week later, I needed to get to her immediatly and take her to the hospital to get them removed. Ummm...okay there is no such thing. She even fell for the "baralotus of the blowhole" and told everyone she had that. It's nuts.
Anyhow, most of you know where my daughter lives. This woman has not only made my life hell, but she is working on my kid too. This woman concocted a story that my daughter caught genetic scholiosis from her family. (my child was basically kidnapped by a non-blood related idiot). She also says this child has severe asthma. I was floored because she just told me that they are about to do surgery on my daughter who just turned 10 yesterday. I called the dr.'s office and her doctor spoke to me personally. He just informed me that most people with slight Munchauesen's will imagine, or create, a disease to gain sympathy. He also explained that when it's a case like this, the caregiver looking for sympathy, will become technical about diseases you can't see. Meaning, scholiosis (which my father and i both have), asthma, heart murmers, parasites, and cancers are things you generally cannot see, therefore no one can dismiss them. I am livid! I know that dr.s these days will not do anything to jepardize the childs health or life, but isn't there something I can do! I do know for a fact that my uncle had surgery on his back at age 12, and he is now 44 and never worked a day in his life because you are still growing at that age and nothing fell back to place after that. I have a bad back at age 30. I did find out she has a 2 degree turn to the left of the spine, but I have a 28. I mean, I am just now hurting. If they do the surgery she could be screwed for the rest of her life. Sorry to rant on you.....
Have you experienced anything like these two women? What did you do about it? Are you like these two women?
