I think it is important to allow yourself to have the odd teeat now and again, even when you are trying to lose weight. I think if you have abit of what you fancy now and again it means you are not depriving yourself. Speaking from experience Ive found that if you completley cut out fatty foods, sugar etc and are really strict with yourself then when you start eating them again you will eat more than usual.

I agree with you, i think if you tell yourself you can't have something then you end up wanting it even more! There's no point being slim and unhappy, a little treat every now and then does you no harm, i actually think it can do you a lot of good! xxx

hi donna yes we diabetics are also taught that, we can have a pieceof candy if we count it into our daily carb count, and also we can have a few potato chips the same way, as treats, and ocassionaly. A few pieces of chocolate at night as saved me from going bonkers and messing up my good blood glucose levels. and it tastes goodtoo, and is good for you.contains anti oxidants which we all need, use dark chocolate only for that.

I agree. We should allow ourselves to have treats from time to time especially if we do it as a kind of reward for ourselves. I don't believe in deprivation of foods that are good to eat. I believe in moderation of the foods we need to eat and the food we want to eat.
I love chocolates every now and then :) It really perks us up.
