Are We Filipinos Too Friendly/Hospitable/Accomodating For Our Own Good?

I noticed that many foreign nationals love our country and our people. They say that people are the reason why foreigners love us. We're too hospitable that we treat our visitors kings and queens! The problem is that because of our hospitability, there had been problems in the past that made us suffer more than we should - Spaniards, Americans, and now, other foreigners who are trying to make a living in our country. So now I ask, are we too accomodating for our own good?

pinoys in general are very hospitable...nowadays i've noticed that others tend to take advantage of it since foreigners are very generous...don't you think?

In the Philippines, yes, I agree that many Filipinos abuse the foreigner's generosity, especially the Americans. It's because of the notion that foreigners are rich, which is not exactly true. We should be reminded that the cost of living abroad and in the Philippines differs greatly, so for instance if a foreigner saved $100 in US, in the Philippines it really is valuable and you can buy many things, but in the US you cannot buy much.
