as of 2 yrs ago! LOL I just got in touch with my brothers ex with whom he had a son yrs back and she was telling me that not only is my nephew now 20 and going to be an R.C.M.P WHOOHOO...but his sister is 21 and had a baby 2 yrs ago....Thats crazy LOL..but very cool...
Ever get family news long after the fact because you'd not been in touch with certain ppl??

Malta is a small island so people know each other. Even if you lose contact with your relatives, you can rest assured that someone else is going to fill you in with the latest news!

My family is close enough that none of us are ever THAT far out of the loop, but this happens all the time in my husband's family because they are scattered all over the USA, and some members do not keep in touch with others, and news like this usually comes through the grape vine years and years later.

Well I was on the road already when my nephew was born and actually none of us knew she was even preg until AFTER mike was born..I met him as a newborn then saw him again when he was aobut 8 yrs old but they live way out in B.C and I was traveling around Ontario working the circut so we never really (his mum and I) stayed in touch...Plus my brother and her werent exactly long term back then ya know...AND add to the fact that my mother doesnt and hasnt spoken to her in yrs and I dont really speak to my family its no wonder I didnt know LOL..Its cool getting back in touch though thats for sure!!

I don't have any distant family so it's pretty unlikely that I'll hear anything startling. Although I have discovered a cousin twice removed through my research of the family history. What fantastic new for you though. Darn you'll look like the child's slightly older sister, and I MEAN slightly older!!

Yes getting news from people who were close to you after a long gap can be really exciting. We had a neighnour who had a 5 year old daughter who would spend the whole day in our house. then we moved to a different city and lost touch. some 20 years later we met them and she was a young lady, married and expecting a baby. I just couldn't believe it. On seeing her I reacted as though she ws stillthe same baby doll I had known 20 years back. I hugged her like a child and se whas feeling embarassed.

Congraulations Raven..it is lovely to know that you have found out now rather than later you must be ecstatic..nothing like that has happened to me but I am already a great aunt to my nephews daughter and his wife is expecting another in November plus so is my other nephew at the same time
